Nevertheless, the lawsuit claims kids and their parents didn't know how fattening the food was. Yeah, when I used to buy big greasy burgers I thought I was having the most nutrtionally balanced and healthy meal possible.

Where were/are the parents? McDonalds oughta countersue them for malfeasance, misfeasance, and general stupidity. Then the judge - any judge - oughta throw this suit out on its ear. Then he oughta move to disbar any lawyer having any part in this nonsense. Fer Crissakes!!

Trail Lawyers only sue those with "deep pockets." That's where the $$$ is.

Years ago I remember telling all of the smoke-nazis that their greasy hamburgers were going to be next target. And if you look the very same arguments are starting to emerge:
1. "We didn't know that cigarettes were addictive."
"We didn't know that the Big Mac was fattening."
2. Long-term smoking is a large health care cost.
Obesity is a costly burden on health care.

"When we're suing on behalf of children, it's hard to argue that a 6, or 8 or 10-year-old child has to take full responsibility for their decisions when they're lured into McDonald's by the toys and the playground and happy meals and the birthday parties," said attorney John Banzhaf. It's always for the children, isn't it? If the parents have a fat kid and they're letting him be stuffed full of fast food, it's the parents fault. Someone here (probably more than one person actually) has said that serving fast food should be like serving alcohol: when someone is clearly completely smashed you shouldn't give them another drink. Well, when Jumbo Jim and Fat Francis come into a fast food restaurant, you should politely deny them service lest you be held liable for their demise. This must be what these people want.

Wonder if Ronald McDonald and the Fries Guys will soon meet the same fate as Joe Camel?

Wouldn't shock me at all. I mean, Ronald is a figure young children may look up to. As a result, they begin to believe that eating a quarter pounder will make a clown with big red shoes come out and sing to you about believing in magic. This is not only damaging to the mental health of young children, it is setting them up for problems with obesity in their future by creating a desire for fast food, an addiction.

This is a load of crapie. They should be suing thier parents

I think you may be on to something here -- refuse service to anyone that is overweight. But of course then the next lawsuits would be about discrimination against fatties.
America will never be safe from this sort of stupidity and greed until all the trail lawyers have been taken out and shot. And we better do that fast before they sue the gun manufacturers. What? ... oh, nevermind ...

You know, if they actually win this lawsuit (or, much more likely, get a settlement), the first thing the parents will do with the money their kids have won is to take the whole family out to a nice sit-down restaurant to celebrate. One with portions a lot bigger than McDonald's.
To: JediGirl
Maybe Jared from Subway should take these kids out for lunch somewhere.

Maybe the local DA should charge the parents with endangering the life of a minor, child abuse, etc.
That would put one heck of a ding in fast fat sales.

Fast food should be taxed similiar to cigarettes. Add about three dollars to the price of a burger and about four dollars to the price of a biggie fries. Do it for the children.

The only place these kids eat is at McDonalds ?????
Outside of eating at McDonalds they eat a strict and balanced diet
Therefore McDonalds is responsible for all their fat
What BS
