Great transcript of Rita Crosby's interview with the mother of the girl being "harmed" by the words "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

We are all harmed by the words "under God" being forced on us by government agencies. In America, we are all free from such religious establishment.

If the mom wants her daughter to utter those words, let her find the time of day for her daughter to say it. It's not the government's job.

Please, if you're going to make a sweeping statement like that, back it up with some facts. Who do you know that is harmed by the words "under God"? How are you harmed by the words "under God"? Please, give a thorough explanation.

Are you harmed by the words 'Under Allah'? But would you want to say them?

Here is, I think, the most important exchange in this interview:

COSBY: What do you think motivated him to file this suit then?

BANNING: I — I'm not for sure what his motivation was, I know that he's always had a strong interest in constitutional law, and um, I know that he's always had a desire to — to — he's always enjoyed controversy and so it, being involved in something like this, it really doesn't surprise me too much.

...he's always enjoyed controversy...?

Plain and simple...GLORY HOUND! This guy should be taken to jail for perpetrating a fraud on the courts.

Of course, the 9th is a fraud in and of itself, so I am not sure how that would work, but you get the point.

More good reasons for real conservatives to...
remove your children from the government schools now.

You cannot instill conservative values if you send your children to be indoctrinated in socialist indoctrination camps eight hours a day for 12 years.
If you think you can, then you are deluded.

Saying "under God" in the Pledge does not "establish" a religion. There is nothing unconstitutional about it. But in case you do think it does establish a religion, please explain to me what this "government established religion" that is based by the phrase "under God" is like. This government-established "under God" religion has been around for about 50 years and I don't believe that there has been any kind of worship meeting yet, nor has there been any kind of designation of leadership or any kind of rules. Someone out there has done a real poor job of getting this thing going!

On the other hand, taking "under God" out of the Pledge can be construed as restricting the freedom of religion (ie it implies that it is illegal to mention "God").

Are you sure? Do you think that there are no "good" conservatives here on Free Republic that went to public school in the recent past?

While there is definitely a lot of liberal ideology that is presented in public schools, and the parents should be on guard against it, to say that someone absolutely CANNOT become conservative and go to public school is a very silly statement.

"Are you harmed by the words 'Under Allah'? But would you want to say them?"

The obvious difference in this situation is that if you didn't say the words 'Under Allah', you would most assuredly be harmed...as in either stoned to death or decapitated.

Our Constitution restricts our Government from establishing a religion, thus guaranteeing "freedom of religion"...not "freedom from religion" as the atheists and other liberals would have us endure. If saying the words 'Under God' bother you, then don't say them, but do not deny the rest of us what we believe is important to proclaim.

To expect that you can send children to be indoctrinated for eight hours a day, for twelve years - steeped in pro-homosexual, leftist texts and propaganda, and they will to turn out "conservative" is even sillier. Wake up man! Look at what has happened to America. Even "conservatives" have bought into the socialist party line.

Actually, we have, but she didn't say the things you wanted to hear, so you have decreed that she didn't speak.

Funny that these activists cannot find a real situation to base their lawsuits on. They always have to concoct something to make their point.
This girl was not "harmed" The father lied about it. He may have been "harmed", but he wasn't forced to say it. Therfor the case should be thrown out.
I remember, thar the Jane Doe case was a lie in the case which made it legal to have an abortion.

Just for the record: I never said that.
by God's grace, some do make it through the socialist indoctrination mills intact.
But they are the exception, not the rule.
That's why we are a minority..

The mom is a nice lady whose poor daughter is as much a victim of her narcissistic lying psychopath lawyer of an ex-husband as are the rest of us.

The father of girl is a typical lawyer vermin, one of the plague of these white collar criminals infesting this country. His entire case is based upon lies and deceit, not to mention the harm he is causing his little daughter.

There is a special place in the lowest circles of hell for attorneys.

re: her father lied about it)))

This is an amazing interview! I saw Newman several times on TV, and thought him a publicity-hound crank, but here to find out that he is essentially putting forth a lie.

Telling the world he thought his daughter harmed and failing to mention that his daughter is a church-going Christian.

What a creep. I'm sure this mom is humiliated to even have to admit a former association with this idiot.

E.D. Hill (Donahey) on Fox and Friends was coming unglued this morning over this. Pretty sickening the way this cretin uses his daughter to push his ego buttons.

Under God is somewhat generic isn't? While under Allah is very specific.
Muslims, Jews and Christians and a bunch of cult members can say the words "Under God" without denying their faith.
