NEW YORK -- On the eve of a United Nations' special session on children, critics of the Roman Catholic Church demanded an apology for priestly sexual abuse while an interfaith meeting called the hunger, poverty and violence faced by the world's youths "intolerable."
The apology bid came from Catholics for a Free Choice, a maverick group that is asking a U.N. panel to investigate whether the church's treatment of molestation claims violated the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child.

On that issue "we have learned to respect conscience," he said. The World Conference on Religion and Peace will no doubt help Catholics for a Free Choice teach the Holy Father and his ilk the importance of "conscience." (When I read crap like this, I cannot help but believe a good part of this pedophile "scandal" is bogus leftist hype.)

"Catholics for a Free Choice" which is funded by the Playboy Foundation and cozy with the eugenic and racist likes of Planned barrenhood and the National Abortion Rights Action League is about as authentic as we might imagine a group styling itself Jews for Hitler. I don't think so. These phonies are what Hugh Hefner, the Rockefellers, the Ford Foundation, Warren Buffett and the rest of the stinking and rotting anti-CAtholic bigots of our nation's pseudo-elite would like Catholics to be: just like them. Nice try, no cigar. If we had decent laws against fraud, each and every member of "Catholics for a Free Choice" would not only be bankrupted for trademark infringement but jailed for mail and wire fraud and consequent RICO convictions.
Let me see if I have this right: MORAL advice from these baby slashers????? MORAL advice from those who take upon themselves fraudulently the name Catholic?????

Read Fox's Book of Martyrs; Catholicism owes a lot of people an apology, esp those it tortured and killed in the past, (and that in the name of G-d!), not just a small group of Catholic malcontents, who are upset about the lastest Catholic scandal, but basically support it otherwise. This is "G-d's Church," above all others (per it's followers), yet tolerates homosexuality in it's priesthood? Yeah, right you are; tell me another one.....

Come, come. There were atrocities on both sides. Queen Mary burned fewer Protestants than Queen Elizabeth hanged, drew, and quartered Catholics. Not pleasant on either side. But it hasn't much to do with Catholics for a Free Choice, the subject of this thread. They are a bunch of lying baby killers who, I hope, have no more appeal to faithful Protestants than to Catholics.

Aside from its financial backing from various wealthy foundations, CFC owes a heck of a lot to its friends in the media. This Kissling person has been featured on "60 Minutes," and is regularly quoted in the New York Times and other major propaganda outlets. It's outrageous that a group is allowed to call itself "Catholic" and exist for the sole purpose of attacking Catholicism in every possible way. They used to concern themselves just with reproductive issues, but now that they're playing up this issue too, it's more obvious than ever that their true agenda is simply to undermine Catholicism.

Unfortunately, some "Christians" dislike Catholicism a lot more than they dislike abortion. Some evangelical leaders have admitted that they were slow to react against legalized abortion in the '70s because of their reluctance to align with the Catholic Church on any issue. The feeling was that if the Catholics are against it, they ought to be for it.

Hey Malcolm why don't you go back to Belfast and satisfy your Catholic phobia by murdering some nuns

Yeah, you guys have got all the answers: (celibacy for the priesthood, penance instead of repentance, confession, etc, etc, etc), all in direct opposition or not required in the Bible. And now a policy of aiding and abetting homo/pedophile priest to escape prosecution. Wow! Where do I join this perfect Church???
Faith without works is dead. My pastor preached that last Sunday. (He's not Catholic, but he does the best he can). It's a direct quote from the Bible, (you know, that book that "protestants" use for daily guidance?). You say that you see clearly; therefore, you CANNOT escape your guilt.....

No one cares whether you join. Is it too much to ask, though, for you to just leave us alone? Most of us wouldn't dream of slandering your denomination, but you feel free to bash away at ours. You guys imagine that you're part of some big historic struggle against the papists. More than anything else, it's sad. And, by the way, Catholics for Free Choice don't "basically support" the Church, as you contend. They pretty much oppose it in every way.
To: Malcolm
You clearly have no awareness of Catholicism or the Bible!
You're only narrowly aware of passages isolated to contradict mis-represented Catholic teachings.

The following is from Malcolms' profile page. Sounds like he's just another BS artist with a Political Science degree. What was it that Christ had to say about hypocrites and liars.
(Lots of pro-Catholic posts lately; I'm not anti Catholic, but I don't support anything based on error either; if you post pro-Catholic articles under the religion section, I will respect that, but if you post them in Current Events, I will counter-post. I have respect for them, but that doesn't mean I support them. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life, not St Peter.)
