WASHINGTON -- The drumbeat of threatening reports over the last week--terrorists planning to detonate radioactive "dirty bombs" or attack the U.S. financial system--has been all the more alarming because of their source: the captured operational commander of the Al Qaeda network, who is now being interrogated by U.S. authorities.

On Wednesday, the FBI announced yet another warning, that terrorists affiliated with Osama bin Laden may try to attack American shopping centers and malls. Like the other alerts, authorities say, the information was provided by Abu Zubeida, the nom de guerre of Bin Laden's top aide, who was taken into custody in Pakistan last month.

They will break him down, eventually. We don't have him in the US for a reason. We're going to keep hammering on him for months until we're satisfied that he has told us everything he knows.

His life must be pure hell.

I like the idea that someone posted on another thread.

The US could use information that it found through intercepts and spies, announce it as "hey, this is what our prisoner said", and kill three birds with one stone:

1. Get out the alert.

2. Protect their actual covert sources.

3. Make the terrorists dispirited by causing them to think one of their bigwigs is spilling his guts to the Great Satan and giving away all their secrets.

"At least there you knew what buttons to push to get their cooperation: the opportunity for freedom and a better life, safety for their families. But those things don't work with these people," Martin said.

Try stuffing pig intestines down his throat. For the nutritional value, of course.

Daily injections of bacon grease. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Nope. Just let him sit in a kitchen while chitlins' are being fixed, then serve him a plate or three. :)

Or maybe have him go to breakfast at Waffle House so he can have some scattered, smothered & covered hash browns to go with his force-fed bacon and sausage.

The use of a nutcracker on the knuckles tends to get more reaction, and will probably eliminate all the disinformation.

Can you imagine the agony that the ACLU is going through right now with this bastard out of the USA and they can't do anything to interfere!

But virtually no one believes that Zubeida is cooperating for any reason other than to toy with his interrogators,

Perhaps a hairy 350lb guy as a cellmate who likes to get rough might help.

Heck, take him to Waffle House on a rush night and tell the folks around the counter - "This is one of the guys responsible for September 11, and he doesn't want to talk. Any of y'all feel like persuading him?"
