INS links Hollywood man to plot to blow up FPL plant

Federal immigration officials have arrested and are seeking to deport a young Pakistani immigrant from Hollywood who they say plotted last spring to blow up the Florida Power & Light Co. plant at Port Everglades and other sites in South Florida, law enforcement officials said on Monday.

The officials said that the Immigration and Naturalization Service, supported by police in Florida, arrested Imran Mandhai, 19, about a month ago as he was returning to his apartment from an Islamic center in Pembroke Pines. They said Mandhai, who lives in Hollywood with his parents, conspired last March and April with others, whom they declined to identify, to acquire guns and explosives for a jihad against the United States.

Deport? I thought conspiracy was a crime. So they deport Mandhai--and in 6 weeks he jumps a merchant ship and sneaks ashore somewhere along the Virginia coast. Oh, yeh, he'd never do that--the INS wouldn't let him.

One way of looking at what some Muslims are doing is to see it as protecting and spreading their faith. It's true that both Christianity and Judaism have passages in their scriptures that seem to justify forceable conversions and killing of those of other faiths, and also true that Christians practiced such things in Europe until relatively recently (200 years ago). But some adherents of Islam are doing that now, to us. Are we supposed to say, "Well we did it in the past and now it's their turn?"

Hey U! I used to agree with you. Before I became a Christian I didn't like them all that much. I would spew the typical bilge "Oh they are all hypocrites. Losers can't even say look at me and say Hello because I wasn't one of them.

Now I is one. Born again. I'm so thankful. Back then i was holding them to an unrealistic standard as you are. Just because they say they are Christians, you, like I used to, hold them to a higher standard. We point out there shortcoming and failures because then we don't have to face ours.

You know what really bugs the crap out of me still? When these ordinary people mess up and people like you will say the ALL are screwed up. So if we ever met, I would automatically be disqualified in your eyes becuase I'm one of "them".

What bugs me even worse is when Christians blurt out "what would Jesus do", but act like they never had that thought. Probably one of the biggest causes of apathy towards God is Christians who talk a good game about Christ, but then deny Him by their lifestyle.

So I'm not disqualifying you. You just said something really ignorant, but I understand your frustration.

It ain't about a people as a whole. It is about you and Him.

This guy should be put in isolation, without any anemities, until he confesses and names his co-conspirators. If found guilty, our prisions are too good for these animals. Immediate Execution is something the muslims can relate to.

The familes should be deported, as they say "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." It's time for our government agencies to get serious about terrorism instead of the lip service we have been getting.
