Will Rogers once said that the Senate was the greatest collection of comedians in the world (actually, it was Congress as a whole, but for purposes of this column the Senate will do). Every time a law is passed it's a joke and every time a joke is told it becomes a law, Rogers said.

Didn't Will Rogers say something about not being able to cheat an honest man. I guess we don't have to worry about that happening in congress either.

Pillars of the Senate: Daschle, Byrd, Lott, Hillary!, Schumer, the Torch, Carnahan, Jeffords, Wellstone, Kennedy, Leahy, Specter, etc...makes one sick just thinking about it.

I think that Will Rogers also made the comment that you could round up enough people off the streets and wind up with a better Congress than we have. This was made in his era. What would he say now? It is a certainty now. Such a bunch of arrogant, nonsensical fools would be hard to find.

I do have to make the qualification, there are some good Senators, but they are hamstrung with the idiots and incompetents surrounding them. Don't complain though, they were elected to these positions which doesn't reflect very well on the voters who put them in office.

I don't know jokes; I just watch the government and report the facts. - Will Rogers

Will Rogers also said, " I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."
