US must BLOCK sale of GX network to Chicoms
copycat's litter box ^ | 2/16/02 | copycat

It has been reported that Global Crossing (GX) is considering the sale of its worldwide fiberoptic broadband network to Hutchison Whampoa (HW). This company has been tied to the Chinese Army, and accordingly, such a sale would amount to transferring this valuable asset to the Chinese government.

Of course this is also the same company which now controls the ports at both ends of the Panama Canal, thanks to the clinton administration, so the sale of this asset to them would mean that during the clinton administration, the Chinese gained control of the Panama Canal, the acquisition of numerous supercomputers, a worldwide broadband network, all of the US's latest nuclear weaponry, and ICBM technology courtesy of Loral to deliver said nuclear weaponry anywhere in the world.

Quite a take...

Consider this info snipped from a Newsmax article regarding Global Crossing...

Global Crossing Tied to Clinton Defense Secretary
NewsMax | 2/16/02 | Wes Vernon

(snip)The Times does say "questions” have been raised by a proposal by Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. of Hong Kong and a unit of Singapore Technologies to buy Global Crossing. However, the Old Gray Lady does not mention Hutchison Whampoa’s connection to the communist Chinese army.

As reported earlier by NewsMax.com, the CEO of Hutchison, which controls commerce at both ends of the Panama Canal, is a part of the "inner circle” of the Chinese regime. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., told NewsMax he is protesting the sale.
(end)

It is clear that our course of action must be to support Representative Rohrabacher in his protest of the sale of this asset to what amounts to the Chinese Government.

The United States must BLOCK this sale and, if necessary, use US funds to acquire this valuable asset for the use of the United States and its' citizens. The future of world markets are tied to information technology, and to allow the Chinese to control this network is to place them in a superior economic position as we go forward.

Accordingly, I encourage FReepers to contact their representatives, members of the media, and Congressman Rohrabacher to encourage the protest of this sale.

That is all...

Chinese Company Continues to Encircle the World Phil Brennan
Wednesday, June 13, 2001 A huge, multibillion-dollar company closely tied to the Chinese army has set up operations in ports all around the world.

From Panama to the Philippines, an arm of Hutchison-Whampoa, Hutchison Port Holding (HPH), has become the world’s largest seaport operator, embedding itself in strategic seaports all across the globe.

Hutchison holds the exclusive contract to operate the Panama Canal.

An animated map on the Hutchison-Whampoa Web site shows the extent of the encircling movement with seaport operations in Africa (Tanzania International Terminal Services Ltd.) in the Western Hemisphere with seaport services in Beunos Aires, Argentina; Freeport, the Bahamas; Veracruz, Mexico; and at both ends of the Panama Canal.

No kidding!!!

I forgot to add, as I always do when posting, what I meant to put at the end of that list of Chicom acquisitions. They were VERY CLOSE to establishing a seaport right here in the United States at Long Beach, CA. Another gem courtesy of the clinton administration.

As an aside, I remember several years ago a discussion here regarding the China, and how they were the next military threat to the US. One poster claimed that China was no threat, because they had no Navy and therefore no way to get their troops to the continental US.

What a coincidence that they now control most of the Pacific, its' seaports, and the Panama Canal. If a battle ever broke out, controlling the Canal could mean that warships from Norfolk, VA and the Atlantic could not easily be brought to play.

They could also build up a significant force in the Western Hemisphere who would pose as "immigrants" , and at the right time, merely deliver weaponry with their new shipping dynasty to turn these "immigrants" into soldiers.

Ever notice that almost ALL Chinese immigrants caught entering the US are young men between 18 and 25?

We must wake up to this threat. The ChiComs are masters at deception and have a talent for patient, single-minded tactics. For a country that is considered as having no "blue-water navy", they sure have control on most sea lanes, strategic canals and ports all over the world. The naval facilities they're building for Pakistan and Myanmar will give them control in the Persian Gulf and the Malaccan Straits! That will complete the global stranglehold!

They certainly don't need Global Crossing's worldwide broadband network to go along with it!

More about HW from the Newsmax article linked above...

According to the Thompson Committee, Hutchison Whampoa's subsidiary, HIT, has "business ventures with the China Ocean Shipping Company(COSCO) which is owned by the People's Liberation Army.”

COSCO, which failed in a notorious Clinton-backed attempt to lease the former U.S. Naval base in Long Beach, Calif., has been criticized for shipping Chinese missiles, missile components, jet fighters and other weapons technologies to nations such as Libya, Iraq, Iran and Pakistan, the AFP report revealed.

"In 1996, the U.S. Customs Service seized a shipment of 2,000 automatic weapons aboard a COSCO ship at the port of Oakland, California. The man identified as the arms dealer, Wang Jun, is the head of China's Polytechnologies Company, the international outlet for Chinese weapons sales. Jun also sits on the Board of CITIC, China International Trust and Investment Corporation, the chief investment arm of the Chinese central government. It is also the bank of the People's Liberation Army, providing financing for Chinese Army weapons sales and for the purchase of Western technology.”

+++++++If all this is true, it could be said that the clinton administration, in its arming and empowering of Red Chinsa, has also funded and armed worldwide terrorism...

While GX stinks up the place in many ways, "strategic asset" cases almost always turn out to be a waste of money. The reason GX's fiber is worthless is that it is too cheap to duplicate their network or to extend the capacity of other networks. Submarine fiber stopped being a strategic technology a couple decades ago.

Hutchison is also leading the world in building 3G networks. The Chinese want to be a first world country. We should be wary of them, but they show no signs of building a military capable of standing toe to toe with our military - unlike what the Soviets did.

I was under the impression that this was the only network of its kind and that it cost beaucoup bucks to install. Do you disagree with that impression?

I agree we must acquire it,but I have serious doubts about Bubba Bush doing anything to make this happen. Remember, his uncle Prescott is in business with the fascist Chinese.

Before you blame it all on Bubba-1 and the RealDims, check out the business dealings Bush-1 and Prescott Bush have with the Chinese. It's business as usual.

Fundamentally, what GX "discovered" in their first Atlantic cable was that submarine cable was cheap enough for any carrier to install - that is wasn't rocket science any more. The factories to make this cable, and the ships to install it, are idle now due to excess capacity. It would be much cheaper to duplicate GX's network now than it was to install it, if that were even neccessary.

It may have taken an impressive amount of money to do, but then so did Iridium. What's Iridium worth? In the 80's we would have though these people were coked up when they planned these things. What's their excuse now?

When does one cross the line from "just making a capitalist buck" to negligent or deliberate sabotage of America?

How many of us know the difference?

I guess it all hinges on whether W's loyalties are to the world elites or the US. That's a judgement I would not be comfortable making.

I imagine the best course of action is to act as though W is a patriot, since if he is more beholden to the Rockefeller/Rothschild crowd, all is in vain anyway.
