Man Held After Saying He Had Bombs

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A Florida man preparing to fly to Philadelphia was arrested after he told a translator he was carrying bombs from Osama bin Laden, a prosecutor said Friday.

No bombs were found on the man's flight, and he told another translator Friday that he had been joking, said Tim Harrington, an assistant county attorney.

Zemir Halilovic, a 34-year-old unemployed man from Jacksonville, Fla., was ordered held on $100,000 bail on a charge of making a false report of explosives.

Halilovic was about to board a USAirways flight when he became agitated during a routine security check, Harrington said. Halilovic swore at a ticket agent, held his hand like a gun and pretended to shoot, the prosecutor said.

Officials called a translator to speak with Halilovic, who is from Bosnia and came to the United States in 2000. According to Harrington, Halilovic said: ``Bin Laden gave me four bombs to bring on the plane.''

The threat delayed the flight by 21/2 hours while authorities searched the plane and luggage.
