Clinton-Dole "public service ad" - Vanity
Current TV
Posted on 11/21/2001 2:10:31 PM PST by Calvin Locke
Anybody else forced to change channels or turn off the TV when this ad comes on?
WHAT WAS the charity for thinking? Look at the response Clinton evoked with that investment bank last spring.
Many charities are under fire as it, in their use/fraud/response of the 9/11 terrorist act. Now one is using a convicted perjurer to ask for $$$? I don't get it.
WHY do the broadcast corporations run the thing? I'm sure the advertisers that pay for time appreciate, what is probably a "freebie", chasing away potential customers.

That ad just ran this very minute on my TV.
Clinton: "We must make sure that every one of their children is able to receive a college education."
Huh?

YES!!!! I saw it the other day! It was gross. I just couldn't believe it.
On the other end of the spectrum, has anyone seen the one the President and Laura Bush do thanking the nation and the troops for thier charitable (sp?) contributions after the attacks? It was very nice and the exact opposite of the Clinton-Dole fiasco.
Maybe they really are those aliens from the Simpsons after all.

I saw the public service announcement with President and Laura Bush last night...a class act. Well done.
Fortunately, I haven't seen the other one you speak of...thanks for the warning.

You mean Dole agreed to do a public service ad with a RAPIST?! For victory & freedom!!!
To: willieroe
OK. Well, after reading the thread for a few more minutes I surmise that Bob Dole and Bill Clinton are shilling for money for some charity.
The pitch hasn't come to Pittsburgh yet, and I doubt that it will ... because we don't need viagra around here, and we sure as hell have had just about all we can take of Bubba-nose. Anyone who would give to this charity has much more money than brains.

I saw the ad a while back and was thoroughly disgusted. Anyone have the toll free number, I would like to give them a call and a piece of my mind.
To: Calvin Locke
I had the same reaction you did.

I turn it off--something about listening to a rapist talk about charitable giving makes the stomach turn.
