Five British Muslims killed in Afghanistan

Five British Muslims have reportedly been killed fighting for the Taliban.

Three of the casualties of the British-based Al-Muhajiroun group have been identified. The five were killed during fighting for the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, a spokesman for the Taliban said.

"Five of our British Muslim volunteers were martyred in Mazar-e-Sharif," Mr Hassan Butt said.

They include Abdul Saleem (25) from East London; Zulfikar Ahmed (28) from Leicester; and Abu Waheed (26) from Crawley.

He refused to identify the other two.

Al-Muhajiroun lost three other Britons and two American Muslim members last month during US-led bombing on Kabul.

The Northern Alliance seized Mazar-e-Sharif last Friday, starting its string of rapid victories that led to the fall of Kabul this week.

But if they were British subjects, then their fighting for Britian's enemies constitutes high treason. Their property (and that of their families) should be forfeit to the Crown and their descendents to the third generation forbidden from owning anything in Britian (corruption of the blood -- prohibited by the US constitution, but still ok in Britian)

Kinda reminds me of the story about the CIA finding out the Iraqis wanted to upgrade their computer systems. One of the items they wanted to purchase was printers from an IBM subsidiary in Argentina. The CIA got IBM to add an extra "upgrade". When the Gulf War started the CIA sent out a radio signal that caused a homing beacon to turn on in the printers! Kaboom.
