The Liwaa of the Messenger was a piece of white cloth with the words "La Illaha Illa Allah Muhammadur Rasul Allah" written across it (i.e. There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger). The Raya of the Messenger was a piece of black wool with the words "La Illaha Illa Allah Muhammadur Rasul Allah" also written across it. Therefore, the Liwaa is a white flag with black inscription, and the Raya is a black flag with white inscription.

Perhaps by rallying the Islamic world to his cause? He has declared a Holy War, a jihad, against the United Sates and Israel, vowing to banish us from the Arabian Penninsula and Israel from the Holy Land and Jerusalem, or we will be destroyed.

Jews and Christians were cleansed from the Arabian peninsula by Mohammed's successors. Guys like Bin Laden and the millions of Islamic fundamentalists don't like Christians and Jews back on dar al-Islam in any respect. In 1961 Abd al-Rahman al-Bazzaz, a professor of law at the University of Baghdad and a former Prime Minister of Iraq, explained how pan Arabism was threatened by the Jews:

The great danger of Israel is due to its being an ideological threat to our nationalism which challenges our entire national existence in the entire region. The existence of Israel nullifies the unity of our homeland, the unity of our nation and the unity of our civilization, which embraces the whole of this one region. Moreover, the existence of Israel is a flagrant challenge to our philosophy of life and the ideals for which we live, and a total barrier against the values and aims to which we aspire in the world.

(This our Nationality,pp. 253-54). Pan Arab Fascism. Most of the Jews were completely emptied out of Arab Islamic lands the last century. The Eastern Christians were mostly cleaned out centuries ago. The current Jihad is to finish the job.

Rational people should not waste any time listening to the prophesies of a ranting lunatic who followed a murderous terrorist in the Eight Century.

Rational people understand the importance of perception in such things. The perception of bin Laden in the Middle East is not that of a run-of-the-mill terrorist. He has a broad following that is growing by the hour. His supporters are steeped in the Mahdi prophecies, and many of them are coming to perceive him to be the Mahdi. If he survives long enough, he could ignite a true "no kidding" Jihad of millions of sympathetic Muslims. What would be their aims? His aims, i.e, to drive the US from the Middle east and to destroy Israel.

Maybe he'll fizzle. But maybe he won't. Only a fool would ignore the possibility that he could inspire a broad-scale militant uprising of millions of Jihadists.

The other Revelation...

"The Revelation undertook to mention them and attached many judgements to them, for example zakat, marriage, and hudud, etc., therefore within the Revelation they have to have a reality and specific measure for assessment [of zakat, etc.] upon which its judgements may be based rather than on the non-shari'i [other coins].

Know that there is consensus [ijma] since the beginning of Islam and the age of the Companions and the Followers that the dirham of the shari'ah is that of which ten weigh seven mithqals [weight of the dinar] of gold. ... The weight of a mithqal of gold is seventy-two grains of barley, so that the dirham which is seven-tenths of it is fifty and two-fifths grains. All these measurements are firmly established by consensus."

Ibn Khaldun, Al-Muqaddimah

That's the World Islamic Trading Organization!

Anyone still confused?

Both the white on black flag behind Osama and the black on white flag above Osama bear the message. It is the same message on the national flag of Saudi Arabia, which is white on green.

"sick of looking at these cretins"

The kid in the "suicide bomber" suit needs to be front page news every day until our politicians catch up to the American puplic and understand what we're dealing with.

I had a conversation about the mahdi theory with a friend with strong credentials in middle eastern affairs. The basic conclusion we reached was that it is highly possible Bin Laden thinks himself to be the mahdi, and if he does, he will probably announce it fairly soon...probably after a big event. At that time, we'll know for sure just how loony Osama truly is.

In other words, the whole mahdi thing will tell us if Bin Laden is simply an angry power hungry run of the mill terrorist thug who simply has the money and means to engage in "big" terrorist acts (as compared to the average terrorist car bomb in front of mcdonalds in jerusalem), or a true loony wacko, the likes of which have not been seen since Hitler.

Islamic flags, however, were greatly simplified and appear to have been plain black, white or red. Black was supposed to have been the colour of Mohammad's banner, the colour of vengeance. A black flag was used by the Abbasids in 746 A.D. (A.H. 129), the Omayyads and Alids chose white by contrast and the Khawarij (Kharijites) red. Keeping the tradition a plain red flag is therefore, retained by the modern Sultanates of Muscat and Oman. Green was the colour of the Ftimid dynasty and eventually became the colour of Islam

Sad to say, but Walso has gone the way of Cat Stevens, and was last seen in this frothy mob.

See him?

Good post Saber. Bookmarked!

Islam's predictions of the last days.

While the people will be pledging their allegiance to Imam Mahdi, a voice from the unseen will call out:

"This is the representative of Allah,

The Mahdi, listen to him and obey him"

This announcement which will be heard by all those present will establish his authenticity.

Hadhrat Abu Umamah (R.A.) says that Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad) said: "There will be four peace agreements between you and the Romans (the Western powers). The fourth agreement will be mediated through a person who will be from the progeny of Hadhrat Aaron (that is will be from the priestly Levite tribe of Israel) (A.S.) and will be upheld for seven years."

The people asked: "O Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad), who will be the Imam of the people at the time?"

Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad) said: "He will be from my progeny and will be forty years of age. His face will shine like a star and he will have a black spot on his left cheek. He will don two "Qutwaani" cloaks and will appear exactly as a person from the Bani Israeel (Children of Israel)..." (Tabrani)

According to hadith narrated by Abu Saeed Khudri (R.A.) Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad) said: "...(regarding the rule of Imam Mahdi) the skies will rain down in abundance and the earth will yield forth its crop in abundance, and those alive will desire that those who have already passed away should have been alive to enjoy this prosperity..."

Hadhrat Buraidah (R.A.) says that Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad) said: "There will be many armies after me. You must join that army which will come from Khurasaan (Iran)." (Ibn Adi)

1) Abu Hurairah (R.A.) says that Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad) said: "(Armies carrying) black flags will come from Khurasaan (Iran). No power will be able to stop them and they will finally reach Eela (Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem) where they will erect their flags."

from: "Signs of Qiyamah"
by Mohammed Ali Ibn Zubair Ali

2)The Prophet (PBUH and HF) said: "Even if the entire duration of the world's existence has already been exhausted and only one day is left (before the day of judgment), Allah will expand that day to such a length of time, as to accommodate the kingdom of a person from my Ahlul-Bayt (family) who will be called by my name. He will fill out the earth with peace and justice as it will have been full of injustice and tyranny (by then)."

The Prophet (PBUH and HF) said: "al-Mahdi is one of us, the members of the household (Ahlul-Bayt)." Reference: Sunan Ibn Majah, v2, Tradition #4085

3) The Prophet (PBUH and HF) said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah (the daughter of the Prophet (PBUH).

4) The Prophet (PBUH and HF) said: "We (I and my family) are members of a household that Allah (SWT) has chosen for them the life of the Hereafter over the life of this world; and the members of my household (Ahlul-Bayt) shall suffer a great affliction and they shall be forcefully expelled from their homes after my death; then there will come people from the East (see above hadeeths that say this army will come from Khorasan modern day Iran) carrying black flags, and they will ask for some good to be given to them, but they shall be refused service; as such, they will wage war and emerge victorious, and will be offered that which they desired in the first place, but they will refuse to accept it till they pass it to a man from my family (Ahlul-Bayt) appears to fill the Earth with justice as it has been filled with corruption. So whoever reaches that (time) ought to come to them even if crawling on the ice/snow since among them is the Vice-regent of Allah (Khalifatullah) al-Mahdi."

5) Abu Nadra reported: We were with the company of Jabir Ibn Abdillah... Jabir Ibn Abdillah kept quite for a while and then reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said: "There would be a Caliph in the last (period) of my Ummah who would freely give handfuls of wealth to the people without counting it." I said to Abu Nadra and Abu al-Ala: Do you mean Umar Ibn Abd al-Aziz? They said: NO, (he would be Imam Mahdi).

I am sure that you have seent the excerpts from the Al Qaida recruiting video which the networks have run endlessly.

They show black clad ninja suited terrorists doing an obstacle course, and close quarters batttle drill where they run into a room and shoot cardboard torso target which have Christian crosses painted on them. I have seen it at least 30 times on ABCNNBCBS.

The video always includes the image of a company of terrorists marching toward the camera in ranks and files, wearing all black, holding high giant wind whipped black flags with arabic writing on them. Mountains are in the background, the terrorist camps are (were) in Afghanistan/Kourasan.

Clearly, the intent is to draw jihad recruits to the black flagged army marching out of Kourasan.

Anybody have that clip or still from it? It pretty well clinches it for me.
