Hugh is astute, politically savvy, and a fine talk show host. His guests are excellent, adding information that won't be found on most other programs. I like that a lot. And, Hugh's show is entertaining as well.

We are fortunate to have him on the air waves. He is one of my favorite thnkers toady.

RonDog, you did a most superb job on this thread! Thanks for your hard work.

"Then Hughie and his cosmopolitan pals can try to out-pander the Democrats to their hearts' content. And people wonder where the moniker The Stupid Party came from..."

Yeah, it's funny... Any time anyone's got the stones to run a tough campaign against the colonistas, they win HUGE in the ballot box.

Consider this:

The reconquista is the single most viable issue for breaking the Democrat stranglehold on the black vote. Talk to any black, they know how much all of the border jumpers are pushing them away from the entry level rungs of the economic ladder.

But there are just too many dainty Republicans that aren't willing to walk through that fire and grab the victory that's there for the taking.

Hugh is great, and I'm glad to hear him on evening drivetime on KRLA. There's no talker on radio, anywhere, who's more alive intellectually. Wish they'd found a spot for George Putnam, however, who's an institution and shouldn't have been totally squeezed out when KRLA went to a new schedule. Gallagher is boring, empty and wasted time (does ANYONE disagree? I've never read a positive comment about him on freerepublic)-- - could't they put Putnam on during those hours?

Ain't that the truth. If you ever heard Terry Anderson and his pals call George Putnam, you heard it with passion.

The reconquista has driven many south central LA blacks to Riverside and San Bernardino. The Open Border is all an intellectual lark when you're privileged, it's something else entirely when you're in direct competition for your livelihood.

We used to hire blacks for the janitorial work when I worked in restaurants. These people were put out of business by illegals who would undercut their prices. The illegals were willing to live 20 to a house, and save their money with a plan of returning to Mexico or points south. The blacks were our fellow Americans, and they had nowhere to "move to". They live here. They couldn't live 20 to a house. To hear people justify open borders by saying "they really didn't want that sort of job" is insulting and demeaning. If they weren't competing with foreign nationals here illegally they were able to make a living.

Don't get me wrong, I never miss Hugh. He's just R-O-N-G on the colonistas.

George was cool. I liked hearing him talk about everyone he's met in the last 67 years he's been on radio.

(you heard that right FReepers... Sixty-Seven years on radio!)

Gallagher is like Michael Reagan without the meat. Nothing insightful, nothing I can't hear a moderately astute bartender say. Nor is he funny.

Hugh's a Great American and the best thing that could have happened to 3:00 - 6:00 pm talk radio! Keeps us informed with a positive spin in so many areas and with lots of spunk! The radio could use lots more of his stuff! Thanks for including Hugh as part of your Freeper group.

"The illegals were willing to live 20 to a house, and save their money with a plan of returning to Mexico or points south."

Trashing neighborhoods and driving down property values at the same time they drive up rents.

I really like calling them colonistas. Sounds Politically Correct, but is so NOT.

You mean you're not enthralled by his Radio Guy voicing? Fortunately I can barely pick up KRLA at that hour, so it's Imus for me, mostly.

Dumping Putnam was a travesty. Of course George isn't slick like his juniors (maybe that should be "inferiors"). But so what? He's like part of your family. Part of your family who saw every major event since the Great Depression, who knew Ronald Reagan, and a whole slew of Hollywood stars and political movers and shakers. Now I wish AM radio had remained a backwater, there was more variety then than now.

"Medved's from La Jolla? Gee, I remember a little brief-case carrying dweeb by his same name who lived in Point Loma."

You know, I could have it wrong. I know he grew up down your way. He also admits to being a classic nerd in the day.

He wrote "Whatever Happened to the Class of "65?" which I thought was about La Jolla High. Do I have that wrong?

Thanks for putting me on the list. I've been listening to Hugh since he was on with bill press and substituted for Duffy. But when we moved up here one of the sad facts of my life is that I can only listen to the parts of his show as the station he's on is small and doesn't have a large listener base. They broadcast the last hour of his show on Tues-Fri and tape delay him from 8:00 to 10:00 (sometimes) in the evenings. I may be his only Spokane listener but I'm loyal and will continue to read his web site articles and catch him when I can. God bless Hugh, he's a real American!

I get to hear him for 30-60 minutes every afternoon. I'm basically enjoying it.

Prove how responsive he is. Spell out N-U-C-L-E-A-R to him. Tell him it's pronounced "new-clee-ar," and not "new-kew-lar." I associate that pronunciation with gappy education, which he DOES NOT otherwise seem to have. But it makes him SOUND bumpkinish.

HUGH HEWITT and Free Republic: How should we help him help us?
[Who **IS** this guy?]

(thanks for the thread and the ping, RonDog;
rface, I mention Columbia, MO below)

As a poster of long-standing in this forum, I heartily give my endorsement to
The Hugh Hewitt Show.
Hewitt may be a bit moderate for some of the conservatives and libertarians in this
forum...but he beats the heck out of lots of conservative commentators.

He is generally civil, maybe a bit intellectual at times...but when he identifies
a target of liberal idiocy, he lets 'em have it with all guns blazing.

The country needs to hear him on more stations...and use the internet link at www.newstalk870.com
that (as far as I know) allows them to access the show via the Internet (M-F, 3-6PM Pacific Time).

My main push would be to get him on the air in Columbia, MO, a university town that
is now swept up in a growing tsunami of political correctness, as well as the
Dallas-Ft. Worth area, where I have relatives (and hope to move some day!).

I'm a conservative from Oklahoma/Texas, now a one-man conservative reactionary cell
at a major Southern California university.
And even if I don't agree with Prof. Hewitt on EVERY point, he's a INFORMATIVE and
entertaining listen.
