New England Patriots Owner to Columbia University: Say Goodbye to My Money
Townhall ^ | 04/22/2024 | Matt Vespa

I’m not a fan of the New England Patriots or any Boston-based team, but I do support this move by its owner, Robert Kraft, who is paying attention to the antisemitic and pro-terrorist shenanigans happening at Columbia University, his alma mater. The students are taking over, with the campus reverting to an old Ivy League tradition: hating Jewish people. As the faculty have now joined the students, Mr. Kraft said that he’s no longer going to donate to the school (via CBS News):

Patriots owner Robert Kraft says he will no longer donate to Columbia University until the school protects Jewish students.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft indicated he will no longer be donating to Columbia University as pro-Palestinian protests continued for a sixth day at his alma mater's New York City campus.

Kraft issued a statement through his Foundation to Combat Antisemitism and its #StandUpToJewishHate campaign.

"I am deeply saddened at the virulent hate that continues to grow on campus and throughout our country," Kraft said. "I am no longer confident that Columbia can protect its students and staff and I am not comfortable supporting the university until corrective action is taken."

[…]

More than 100 people have been arrested since the demonstrations began on or near campus. Protesters are calling for a cease-fire in Gaza and want Columbia to divest from Israel. Some set up tent encampments on campus grounds.

Jewish students at Columbia tell CBS New York they are scared for their safety and that chants like "Resistance is glorious" coming from the protesters are antisemitic.

School president Minouche Shafik has announced a switch to remote learning as a way to "deescalate" the situation. Kraft said he hopes leadership at Columbia "will stand up to this hate by ending these protests immediately."

That doesn’t look like it’s going to happen, Mr. Kraft.

New York City is a progressive haven that apparently would rather cater to the demands of pro-Hamas sympathizers calling for the death of all Jews than have the cops move in, tear down this terror camp, and force the kids to return to class.

It looks to me that a lot of the protesters are young women being directed by older men. Yes, there are some Nancy boys in there too.

It looks like a lot of silly girls and women.

Calling for an immediate cease fire. They had a cease fire in place on Oct 7 when the Palestinians murdered over 1000 innocents.

I have never gotten the modern hatred of the Jewish people. I could understand the backward thinking of early Christians blaming Jewish religious leadership for the death of the Messiah—but it had to happen as it was fortold—thus everyone played their role...in that prophecy...

And it wasn't all the Jewish people by any stretch of the imagination.

It was the Pharisees, the religious leaders, who perpetrated it. And they did accept full responsibility for their actions. Something along the line of *HIs blood be on us and our children.*

They willingly owned it, not that that in any way excuses what has been done to Jews throughout history by some who CALL themselves Christian.

Yes, the betrayal and crucifixion played out exactly as necessary to fulfill prophecy.

What an idiot

Columbia’s neo-marxist globalist israel hatred has been obvious for years and building to a crescendo.

He’s a fool if he didn’t see it 10+ years ago.

Good on you, Bob. I know that many of our classmates and fraternity brothers feel the same way. The significance of your statement can’t be measured.

Your generosity over the years includes millions of dollars for things like a new football field where we both got a chance to enjoy the true meaning of college athletics. (Which means I guess that we were there to have fun because our team didn’t have much chance of winning since we weren’t prize athletes. :-)

If Bill Campbell were still alive and on the Board of Trustees then this action of yours would have been shoved down the throats of the current crop of pusillanimous weasels that should have taken strong action at once.

I’m proud to say I am still your friend and brother although we haven’t kept in touch.

“A drop in the bucket.”

Maybe monetarily, but his name carries more weight than his money.

This is how it started at Harvard and led to the termination of Gay. I expect the same result here.

Perhaps give scholarships to Jewish students but elsewhere.
