Planet Fitness has hired a progressive new CEO known for pushing DEI-based hiring, despite the backlash over its decision to ban a member who reported a 'trans woman' shaving in a female locker room.

Colleen Keating will take over as head of the gym chain on June 10, following a ten month search to find a successor after former CEO Chris Rondeau stepped down.

Keating will move over from a role as CEO for FirstKey Homes, during which time she instituted mandatory inclusivity training and 'hiring through a DEI lens'.

Hopefully everybody realizes that. There are better gyms in most towns.

This excerpt has a date of Sept 2014. Not sure if this is the date associated with the template or the timeframe when they implemented this policy.

You’re probably right in that the more shiny the equipment, the more likely that they have that policy. However, if you go to the old-timers gym, with real weights, they would probably put a man, pretends to be a woman, through a wall before they would have that policy.

I got a free membership to one of those places. Yes, they are disgusting.

The older folks (like me) would always wipe off the weight benches after use. That’s club policy. But the younger folks, never. They would flit from station to station and wipe off nothing, leaving all their sweat and grime behind.

No thanks. Gentle calisthenics at home is now the way I go.

Building off of the backlash of freaks in women’s bathrooms they hire a DIE guy for CEO…. What’s next for the gym, Tranny Tuesday? Drag Queen Wednesday workout? Showers will now have areas for special messages?

No thanks. Left PF a few years ago, it sucked then and probably sucks….. something now.

Their slogan is “You Belong”. I guess that’s only true if you don’t have a problem with dudes in the ladies bathroom. Disgusting.

Blackrock is the largest stockholder. The cause is all that matters. A company can lose billions but that’s ok as long as the woke BS moves forward.

Well, for those of us who trained during the seventies and eighties, sweat and grime was the norm.

So sad.

That used to be a good business, offering a clean, modern, well equipped gym for an extremely good value.

When businesses start to focus on things other than their core purpose, “fitness” for Planet Fitness, they go to $hit just like the orange man said.

These businesses might as well take a huge part of their revenue and spend it on charity to feed poor Africans, or for animal rights... These businesses are spending money on something unrelated to their core values, mission, etc. That’s called “waste.”

I hear you. Those years were my prime years in the practice of Chinese boxing. But I wasn’t very good. So for me it was sweat, grime, and the too-often missed block leading to a punch in the nose.

Anyway, I don’t mind sweat and grime. Just as long as you clean up your own sweat and grime. That concept seems to be lost on younger folks (at the gym in my post #10, anyway).

“work with members and employees to address the discomfort”

So Planet Fitness staff are supposed to be mental health professionals counseling people on their feelings?

Who writes junk like this?

And of course, see the bottom, “confidential and proprietary,” i.e. this is our policy but please don’t share it with the public so that we’re not scrutinized. That person should apply for a gov job.
