Around here, large businesses are building cheap duplexes at an amazing rate. They’re going up seemingly everywhere.

Same here.

Probaly four large neighborhoods popped up in the last year.

My wife and I call them “Ka-Chunk” homes....because they all look the same, like they are just rolling them off an assembly line that makes the “Ka-chunk” sounds when a another one pops out. All of them on postage stamp lots, where you could literally pass the salt out your window to your neighbor.

The prices for these homes are stupid high...and people are buying them.

Here in Wisconsin, too! Most buildings are ‘businesses below, apartments on top’ and many of them are still EMPTY after many months. Rents for those apartments START at $1,200.00/month PLUS utilities, internet, water, etc. Many cannot afford it. Just read yesterday of a new downtown development in Sun Prairie - where Mom lives. Same thing, and they’ve already got empty apartments all over the town as it is.

They must be building in anticipation of Happy Days Again when President in Exile Trump is re-elected. Fingers Crossed! ;)

Like mushrooms after a spring rain, multiple twelve apartments per building are popping up in southwest oregon.
