It’s all BS. It’s all said to achieve a particular political goal, and it never is based on any foundation of truth. They say whatever is convenient.
European wars are not our wars. They become a problem for us only after we insert ourselves and tie our future to the future of one or more European nations. Foreign entanglements are bad, okay?
I note that Russia doesn’t seem able to defeat Ukraine and wonder why they should be expected to successfully take on all of NATO. I believe they’d lose, although it might be a Pyrrhic victory for NATO.

If they actually have a plan in place, it will be the first time Europe has taken responsibility for their own defense. They usually pretend nothing is going on around them. They need to police their own backyard. They never did it after WWI, and we had to save their asses twice. NATO has been remiss, and has not required member States like Germany to budget the mandatory amount for their own defense. NATO has taken this country’s money for 75 years, and used it for what? To what end? We’ve been carrying the rest of the member nations for decades.
I believe NATO countries are being destabilized by immigration, not Russia. They are slitting their own throats.
