In Maine right now, the wackos are proposing to reclassify shotguns as Class 3 machine guns....because...they shoot multiple projectiles with a singe pull of the trigger.
So a single-shot shotgun becomes a machine gun.......morons to the nth degree.

I was fresh out of the military when X42 made that change. I had been looking in to setting up a table-top FFL.

It isn’t, but they will still gleefully kill you over it and post glowing write ups in the MSM...

They can, but it’s still a long and difficult process with political costs involved.

I agree it is all smoke and mirrors and Biden feeding his gun-illiterate liberal base some Bullshitte before the election. I never buy at gun shows; guns are always overpriced, in my opinion. I look for antique weapons and browse the new stuff. Swing a stick at a gun show, and you will hit an FFL holder.

This will be challenged but could stand if it meets the Bruen Standard. But I am sure some attorney will explain why it will lose in a challenge. The time to worry is when they pass a rule that requires all weapons left in a Will to be transferred through an FFL to the person who inherits them. If the Feds claim there are 300 million weapons in circulation, triple that, and you will be close. Weapons, even those poorly cared for, can survive and fire accurately for a hundred years or more. The Feds have no idea how many weapons have been passed down in families and where they are.

How many times can they use the word, “rule?”

Well... The way voter roles are these days, I could probably register with my various forum nom de plume and gamer tags. If the Left can do it... :-)

A constitutional right that will be so restricted that it has no chance of being exercised is not a right.📜

What’s next? $500,000 cash for a gun purchase application fee? Two year waiting period? All weapons to have one round capacity limit. $900,000 to buy one round of ammo. Any family from a school shooting incident can ask for a cash settlement in the millions per person.

But enjoy your constitutional rights.

What if you sell the firearm for what you paid and make no profit?
= = =

The original price has tax and transfer fees and background fees and some more added on.

You can sell for more than ‘purchase’, and still be in the hole.

Settle this loophole BS. Buy needs background check or a CCW or equivalent, whether private party or through an FFL. Simple as that, everyone does it or no one does it. And, if you have a CCW, then that should be sufficient to show you are legit legal buyer, no further paperwork, etc. required.

Here in Nevada, CCW can go to an FFL, buy gun, fill out form, show CCW, and walk out with purchased gun. Sadly, they screwed up the private-party transfer to the $$$ benefit of FFL dealers, wherein a CCW holder has to go through a background check each time, just like a non-vetted buyer. Maybe gets fixed but not if money is lost in the process.

Bottom line is that I'm not opposed to basic, simple background check if it is the same for all parties, allowing for pre-cleared via CCW, etc.

Not to mention inflation. A gun bought for $300 30 years ago and sold today for $2000 is probably a wash, or maybe even a slight loss.

It is factually incorrect that most states have mandated NICS checks for private sales. Well over half have no such restriction.

Well that’s fine for Nevada, but the rest of us in free America do have a problem with NICS checks for private sales. You can keep that anti-2A claptrap in Nevada.
