Big trouble may be brewing in little Moldova, which is starting to look like a staging area for the European Union to offset an emerging Russian victory in Ukraine. Whether such a plan, if attempted, would succeed is not clear. But Moldova is not the most stable country in the world with the nation split between pro-EU and pro-Russian elements.
US troops are now in Moldova with Romanians, ostensibly for a military exercise called JCET 2024 (Joint Command Exchange Training). The exercise started on April 1 and will continue until April 19.
According to a Moldovan Ministry of Defense statement, “The aim of the exercise is joint training and exchange of experience between Moldovan, Romanian and American special forces, as well as to increase the level of interoperability between the participating contingents. This year’s event will also be attended by representatives of the [Moldovan] State Protection and Security Service and the Pantera Special Forces.”
"There has been an ongoing struggle in Moldova with the country roughly divided into two camps: the pro-EU camp on the one side and the pro-Russian camp on the other. Currently, the pro-EU camp is in power.
It has outlawed pro-Russian opposition parties and organizations and jailed some of their leaders. In addition, the ruling party has closed 13 TV and media outlets on the grounds they were connected to Russia.
Until mid-March, the pro-EU party did not allow opposition candidates to run for local or national elections. "

Expect Ukraine to be partitioned, with Russia giving control over part, and a “multinational peacekeeping force” (read: US troops under UN auspices) installed in the other part, similar to Korea, where China controlled the north and the UN the south.

Yeah in a nuke war once you run out of food you’re done. That’s why my plan is to take off to another country in the southern hemisphere just before it happens. And take gold with me because the dollar would become immediately worthless after a nuke war. Some nations south of the equator might survive relatively unscathed.
Defense Department calculations on Nuclear Winter suggest worldwide temps on average dropping some 40 degrees. A little less along the coast and in the southern hemisphere a little less than 40 degrees. While temps will be above freezing in South America—the sun will be blocked out and hence growing seasons will be nil. not a fun time.
