With no way out of a worsening war, Zelensky’s options look bad or worse
The Washington Post via MSN ^ | April 6, 2024 | Isabelle Khurshudyan

As Russia steps up airstrikes and once again advances on the battlefield in Ukraine more than two years into its bloody invasion, there is no end to the fighting in sight. And President Volodymyr Zelensky’s options for what to do next — much less how to win the war — range from bad to worse.

Zelensky has said Ukraine will accept nothing less than the return of all its territory, including land that Russia has controlled since 2014. But with the battle lines changing little in the last year, militarily retaking the swaths of east and south Ukraine that Russia now occupies — about 20 percent of the country — appears increasingly unlikely.

Negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war — something Zelensky has rejected as long as Russian troops remain on Ukrainian land — is politically toxic.

Save the situation for whom? Direct NATO involvement will lead to a wider and possibly nuclear war. No one wins a nuclear war. We all lose.

Desperation by Zelensky or his NATO allies could lead to a false flag event that could trigger a direct confrontation with the Russians by NATO. We are entering a very dangerous period in a proxy war Ukraine cannot win.

I’d say your comment makes the most sense.

The possibility of Trump ending this war is a problem for the deep state, which is reason number 20,001 why they cannot let him win the election.

The yankees that run our country appear intransigent. In reality, they are too insecure and do not know how to negotiate anything.

No one WANTS to nuke anyone. But escalation can lead to nuclear war. The Russians will not cede Crimea back to Ukraine. They consider it as Russian territory as much as Moscow is.

Blinken continues to poke the Bear by saying Ukraine will be part of NATO, a redline for Putin.

In the meantime Russia is rebuilding Melitopol with the help of German firms. This is a sign that Russia will not give up the occupied Donbass.

That was just another one of those silly propaganda plants, FR members debunked it almost instantly as soon as delta7 planted it here.

The brokers have been contacted and both yachts are still for sale, the documents are obvious fakes that aren’t even used for those sales, and no one has any idea who the guy is that Morris is.
Here is a look into the internet scam by #superyachts.

“With no way out of a worsening war, Zelensky’s options look bad or worse”

“worsening”???? That implies it was already bad, but how could that be, we were all told that Russia was ‘withering on the vine’, Putin was mostly dead, multiple times, Russia was out of missiles dozens of times, etc.

So, kids, note the careful wording of the above headline. The response that the media wants out of people is not “what the hell is going on there!”, but rather “oh, I must have missed the reports of Ukraine’s fortunes changing over the past year or so, I need to pay more attention to the news”.

Since there weren’t those reports of the war getting worse for Ukraine until this week, the media was forced to imply they exist, and thus it’s not the fault of the media that their consumers were ‘uninformed’ (to put it gently), it is the fault of the consumers themselves.

I’m starting to think that nuclear war is preferable to what happens to us if Biden in reelected.
