Yellen calls for level playing field for US workers and firms during China visit

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called on China on Friday to address manufacturing overcapacity that she said could cause global economic dislocation and to create a level-playing field for American companies and workers.

Starting a five-day visit to China in one of the country’s major industrial and export hubs, she said she would raise industrial overcapacity and what the US considers to be unfair Chinese trade practices during what will likely be tough talks with senior China officials.

“There are a broad swath of economic interactions” between the US and China “that should remain uncontroversial,” she said at an event hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in China in Guangzhou.

But, she said, there are “Chinese practices tilting the playing field away” from US firms.

The United States may be the first country in history that intentionally destroyed its economic superiority, gave it to an enemy, and voluntarily accepted dependance on that enemy.

Yellen calls for level playing field for US workers and firms during China visit

Talk is cheap! We need to tariff China into oblivion; penalize/tax American companies who do manufacturing in China into oblivion; incentivize companies who repatriate their manufacturing from China back to the U.S.

There are probably other things that we can do to make doing business with China unattractive and too expensive for American consumers and companies. The love of money and power are the root of all evil. Unfortunately, the globalists and gov representatives who've been bought by China will not do what's needed to protect and side with American consumers and workers. The people allowing China to ruin us are the same ones enabling the southern invasion.

Yellen is a compromised, misinformed, economic-confused, nitwit who should be in a nursing home playing bingo and petting her cats.

Level playing field? How utterly blatantly ridiculous from a very stoopid tool of the Chi-Com. An Apparat-hen who climbed a ladder of ignored incompetence at the Federal Reserve PRIVATE bank, which should be dissolved.

They can’t believe and then laugh at that crap. The Chinese intentionally holding back for the sake of leveling the playing field? Yeah, they’ll get right on that. We have total fools running this country.

The United States may be the first country in history that intentionally destroyed its economic superiority, gave it to an enemy, and voluntarily accepted dependance on that enemy.

And we did it to support our monetary system - which supports our elites, our bloated government, all its cronies - and their empire.

We are in the middle of a contradiction between having the US dollar as the world's reserve currency - which allows 180 military bases and military alliances around the world, a massive, bloated government - and running huge trade and budget deficits which destroy our manufacturing base and middle class

The economic term is called "Triffin's Dilemma"

The Chinese leadership was sorely tried by Yellen’s presentation. It is a near miracle that they did not all burst into laughter.
