Election 2024 Will Be an 'Abortion vs. Border' Battle That the GOP Needs to Learn How to Fight
PJ Media ^ | 04/04/2024 | Stephen Kruiser

Posted on 04/04/2024 9:11:00 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

The popular opinion among many on both sides of the aisle about why the 2022 red wave turned into a red trickle is that the overturning of Roe vs. Wade ruined it for the Republicans. To the surprise of no one who's been reading me for a while, I don't agree with the popular opinion.

It was 40 years ago this spring that I first volunteered on a Republican campaign. I've seen a few elections. I cannot stress enough how one should never underestimate the ability of the GOP to blow an election simply because the party doesn't execute the fundamentals well.

Yes, I think that abortion played a role in 2022, but not as big of a one as most do. To the extent that it did, I blame Republican candidates' perennial inability to avoid rhetorical traps on the campaign trail. I do not, however, believe that there was a seismic shift in the female Republican electorate because of the Dobbs decision. No one has been able to convince me that, amid all of the inflation and woke takeover of schools tumult, suburban moms bailed on the GOP because they might want to get an abortion one day.

Paying no attention whatsoever to the opinions of Stephen Kruiser, the Democrats want to lead with abortion in any 2024 campaign tussles.

The Washington Post

“I absolutely think reproductive freedom is still front and center,” said Rep. Hillary J. Scholten (D), who represents Grand Rapids and flipped her battleground seat in 2022 amid backlash to a statewide abortion ban eventually overridden by popular vote.

Democrats and Republicans are battling over the basic terrain that 2024 will be fought on and trying to push their strongest issue to the forefront.

Trump is capitalizing on dismal approval ratings for Biden’s handling of the southern border, while Democrats are hammering the issue Trump hardly talks about — hoping to re-create their success in so many elections since a trio of Trump-appointed justices on the Supreme Court helped overturn Roe.

- the border
- child sex trafficking
- drug trafficking
- missing kids
- twerking to 5 yr olds
- drag queens grooming 5 yr olds
- school teachers grooming kids
- teaching hate for the country
- teaching identity based hatred (anti-whiter racism)
- DEI

etc

rip the mask off and let the world see them for what they are

Kinda late wouldn’t you say? Just look at Linda Grahams comments right after Roe was overturned-2 months b4 the election. Talk about stupid. If he’s a pro and he’s that stupid it’s gotta be deliberate.

Trump will own the Border issue, no question.
On abortion, he’s going to move slightly to the center on things like IFV but make it a states rights issue. Even that will piss some FReepers off but so be it, they can either wake up and help save the country, vote for Biden, or stay home. It’s pretty clear that Americans want access to abortion, but the Supremes have spoken, and like countless other things in a nation of 50 states, there will be differences across the fruited plain.

Not a federal problem. Not Trump’s problem.

Gutfeld said the same thing tonight - IMO, Trump should lay a little lower on abortion and say we have a country to save.

Swamp filth like the article writer (been involved in GOP politics for decades) are profoundly unable to understand that the contest is not GOP vs Dem.

They are both fringe parties at 27%. It is independents who are ascendant and they don’t care about right and left. They care about draining the swamp, and yes, Building the Wall.

This avalanche of abortion talk is all media echo chamber stuff. There are no women out there who haven’t already made up their mind on the issue, SO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. It’s pointless. It gives the media out of context quotes to splash.

When a question arises about abortion the reply is this is just more Swamp filth. The question you’re really asking is why are we allowing an invasion at the border.

Then let them figure out how that was an answer.

Its all about fraud. If the 2024 election is allowed to go forward which I doubt it’s just going to be another steal.

I’m looking to be positive and focus efforts to GOTV fir Republicans in the most effective way possible.
How can we work together to do this?

Because of abortion, we’re down several times the number of Americans we aborted, because it’s been two generations of massive suicide.

That means that the last big tidal wave of retirements from the Baby Boomers coming in now is going to bankrupt Social Security without those after us funding the system. Perhaps that’s why our lovely politicians, who must know this, are not really helping anyone close the border. We keep killing, and insist on killing a large percentage of our future workforce.

Many main stream Republican candidates appear to be quietly settling in around the 13-15 week legal abortion time window.

Just recently, I was surprised to learned that most of the countries in the European Union have a similar restriction, which surprised me.

I assumed that western Europe had Abortion on Demand into the third trimester.

Abortion is not the end-all issue some Republicans think it is. The solution is to acknowledge that women who want abortions can get them. There is always a doctor somewhere in some state that will be willing to kill and unborn child. Since it remains legal our best counter to it, if we want to win elections, is to let the issue be between the pregnant woman and her doctor.

Absent that, the issue becomes the convenience of an abortion, little else. The hard left does not want to talk about how the abortion issue is really about: how convenient it is to have an abortion not whether it's legal or not.

Once we point out what the issue really is they will have to do what they do best:

lie about it.

Smart move here. But the rats will be buying millions in ads to promote what they see as their only issue. Sooner or sooner we will have to counter that much advertising.

The rats will cheat in the upcoming election. More than ever.If we haven’t figured out how to stop at least 50% of the cheating we could lose.

All Trump should be saying is that it is a states rights issue, thats what the SC ruled and thats it. No talk about national bans.

They have relabeled abortion “women’s health” and convinced them the government and powers that be are telling you what you can and cant do with your body.

No one is telling you you cant kill your baby, its on you, find a state and pay for it yourself, period!
