NATO is debating a plan to provide more predictable military support to Ukraine in coming years as better armed Russian troops assert control on the battlefield, the organization’s top civilian official said Wednesday.
“We strongly believe that support to Ukraine should be less dependent on short-term, voluntary offers and more dependent on long-term NATO commitments,” NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said before chairing a meeting of the alliance’s foreign ministers in Brussels.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ukraine lowered the military conscription age from 27 to 25 to help replenish its depleted ranks after more than two years of war. A shortage of infantry combined with a severe ammunition shortfall has helped hand Russian troops the initiative.

I hear Ukraine has begun evacuating Kharkiv, various countries are telling the citizens to get out.
I don’t know if this is true, given all the propaganda that gets thrown out, if it is true, Kharkiv is a large major city and would be a big blow to Ukraine.

There are highway pictures out of Ukraine that looks like a Houston hurricane evacuation, complete with inbound traffic lanes carrying outbound traffic.
As it is, no need to order an evacuation as Russian has PERMANENTLY (as in many months or several years) shut down power to Kharkiv by taking out the control centers and generation facilities at its major plants and also taking out the high voltage transformers that feed the city. So not much reason to stay there in any case.
Absent elections there is no way to gauge popular support for continuing a war they can't possibly win.

The goal is to prevent Donald Trump from functioning as Commander in Chief of the US military, which, under this scheme, would be under NATO command at least with regard to Ukraine. They have said so openly, and they want a plan which will last through January 31, 2029, and have also said this openly.
You may be sure that, all throughout the government, similar plans are being drawn up to render a Trump victory empty - a "government of one", while the REST of the government functions as it does now, under the command of hidden individuals with no right to command the Executive Branch.
