Not that I’m for banning numbers, but based on the picture in the article, if you slanted the number slightly it would resemble the Nazi SS logo. And if you squint a little Nancy Pelosi looks like Gal Godot.

I hear what you are saying but we’re talking about Germany, where the heil Hitler salute will get you thrown in jail, it’s logical then that no company wants to be seen as allowing their products to be associated with the Nazi SS symbol.

You're welcome. Apparently it started in 1976.
The members of Kiss and their manager weren't too alert but they learned their lesson and in addition to the stage lights, they changed the logo on the album and posters.
