London’s Metropolitan Police has come under criticism after footage emerged showing an officer telling a Jewish woman that swastikas seen at a pro-Palestinian protest should be “taken in context”.
A clip shared widely online appeared to show a London police officer suggesting that under certain circumstances swastikas paraded in public could be legal, despite Britain’s tough restrictions on so-called hate speech.
In the clip filmed at a pro-Palestinian rally on Saturday, the officer was heard telling a Jewish woman: “I don’t have an in-depth knowledge of signs and symbols. I know the swastika was used by the Nazi party during their inception and the period of them being in power in Germany in 1934… I’m aware of that.”

It is the sewage you get when you have a muslim mayor.
Good golly. It wasn’t too long ago the swastika-waving crowd was flying v-1 rockets at this officer’s grandparents/parents in London.
Oh, I’m sure the swastikas were being displayed as a celebration of American Indian culture. Fits right in with a pro-Palestinian demonstration.

Police officer Asif Mohammed.
A hate crime is defined as 'Any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person's race or perceived race; religion or perceived religion;
And:
Evidence of the hate element is not a requirement. You do not need to personally perceive the incident to be hate related. It would be enough if another person, a witness or even a police officer thought that the incident was hate related.

Great memory. I can’t remember now which infantry division had to change their patch when the Nazis came to power.
45th Infantry Division.
When teaching 8th graders about the Holocaust, I showed them a horrific movie that PBS aired called ‘Memory of the Camps’. You can find it on YouTube. I showed them it because I knew as time passed and the Holocaust was no longer in living memory, that it would be both denied and forgotten.
Apparently even World War II is being forgotten in London. Although from what I’ve heard, the English are now a minority in their own capital city and the police officer’s ancestors had little or nothing to do with the war.
Historical context indeed.
The London Metro Fuzzmeisters seem to be scraping the bottom of the recruit barrel. You know, people who can actually see a “context” for Nazi fascist, Jew-haters waving swastikas.
We remember the shameful mincing of words from a Harvard President:
Harvard President Apologizes For Saying Context Matters When Urging Genocide of Jews.

This is why all “Hate Crimes” are an abomination to the principle of free speech.
One day the British Flag will be considered a hate symbol, if it hasn’t been already.
Thank you Officer; let me help you understand the context. The people displaying swastikas are supporting the deeds of the Nazis, to terrorize among the traditional victims of Nazism. The purpose is to threaten and intimidate Jews until the opportunity rises to murder them in a new Holocaust. Is that enough hate for you? Do you understand now?
