City, State and Federal are mentioned but this is a State of Maryland owned bridge designated as a Federal Interstate Highway spur route so it will be better lt by he state to conform to Fed Interstate standard as well as MD DOT standards. On most interstate projects the Federal Interstate programs cover up to 90% of the cost. Biden is taking credit for something that Eisenhower started.
Liability for damage is a seperate matter from reconstruction.
Heck, Joe will even rebuild the Key bridge railroad he used to commute over …

The government doesn’t pay for anything. A subset of the people aka taxpayers will foot the bill.
Whatever the insurance companies pay will come from the people as well. Companies and governments are pass through entities.
Exactly what I was thinking. Government paying to get it fixed and then pursueing the company for reimbursement makes sense to me.
