My guess is Kate had some female surgery (painful cysts? hysterectomy?) and the cancer they found is early stage and incidental to the surgery. She is unlikely to die from the cancer unless the treatment kills her, which the doctors will then call “complications”.
Of course I am just guessing.
I will pray for her and her family.
Preventive chemo means it was caught in the early stages (I or II ). The tumor was removed and just to be safe, in case any cell from the tumor broke loose and made its way elsewhere (less likely in early stages), the patient is given a course of chemo.

Her husband also seems to have a good head on his shoulder - no drama, no weirdness (atleast none in public yet). He seems be the only one who inherited some good genes from queen grandma.
