Don’t let this stop you. It’s beautiful country full of wonderful people. If you are like us we avoided urban areas.
We stayed in Oban and took day trips around the area and to the islands. The fact that Oban is my favorite scotch whiskey had no bearing on my choice, I swear!
This presumes you can drive on the wrong side of the road (make sure you get an automatic).
I’ve never driven right hand steering, but if I had a choice between automatic and manual, there is absolutely no choice. There ain’t no way I’m getting an automatic.
I would never vote for a muslim for anything. Especially dog catcher. I don’t consider myself a racist, but looking at the crime figures, it pays to be a realist. And I’m certainly not ashamed to say that I wouldn’t want any of the dark races living by me. I’m not really sure what being a racist means these days unless it is simply being a realist. The people of Scotland get no sympathy from me.

I spent more than a week in Scotland in 1980...beautiful country, went as far north as the Orkney Islands. Don't know if any of the people I saw were Muslims but kind of doubt it.

I rented a manual in Ireland, which is similar to the UK in that they drive on the left side and the driver is on the right side of the car.
Not sure how Scottland is, but Ireland likes to make roads with 90 turns without warning signs and no street lighting. You just happen to see with your headlights that you must suddenly turn in order to not run off the road.
I kept waking up my girlfriend punching the right side door trying to find the stick shift. At least the pedals are in the proper place.
Oban is lovely, my wife dragged me there to see the Puffins, weather cancelled our boat tour, but we did get to see some very pretty scenery and nice shops in Tobermory.
The first mile or so was very interesting. He was able to figure out the clutch but kept slamming his hand into driver's side door. Muscle memory and all that.
