A previously private poll found that in the event of a dissolution of the French parliament and snap elections were called, Marine Le Pen’s populist National Rally party could win an outright majority in the National Assembly.
In yet another demonstration of the growing popularity of the populist right in France, a survey commissioned by the centrist Les Républicains (LR) in December found that the National Rally (RN) of former presidential candidate Marine Le Pen could win between 243 and 305 seats in the National Assembly in the event snap elections were called.

Looks like the President has to do it. That seems unlikely, since it would probably not work in his favor.

“Besides, per the French Constitution (article 12), the President has the power to dissolve the National Assembly after consulting with the Prime minister and the heads of the lower and upper houses of Parliament. The Constitution does not set limits on that power apart from prohibiting another dissolution from occurring less than a year after the last one. General elections have to be held necessarily from 20 to 40 days after the Assembly has been formally dissolved.
As of 2023, the last snap legislative election dates back to 1997 when President Jacques Chirac dissolved the National Assembly a year early.”
Macaroni will never do it especially after this. France had their chance to save the country but the leftist media there demonized LaPen and the French got cold feet.
I don’t have any idea what passes for right-wing in France. If there’s a war, do they wait a while before surrendering, or do they do it in advance like the lefties?
She ain’t perfect but there is lots to like and she beats the pants off Macron. Fingers crossed for France that her party is ascendant and can turn back the tide.

Her dad Jean-Marie Le Pen was a true right-winger though; he knew how to fight in wars. A great veteran.
But unfortunately, his daughter Marine Le Pen is most of the time aligned with the ultra-far left partisans. Pushing for endless wars by not being willing to treat the cancer-threats where they are. She is like Chamberlain - buying some and thereby fueling all what’s needed for a future total war.

The new “far-right” (as the left medias says) parties in Sweden and Italy are true supporters of ending the war by supporting Ukraine’s military defensive actions against Russia’s criminal border-rapings and invasions.
We can hope.
But they probably cheat there just like they do here.
