CNN has been desperately treading water for years now. The former king of cable news has been bleeding ratings for years, with Fox News typically topping all the networks night after night. CNN still fancies itself the "most trusted name in news," yet, even former CEO Chris Licht admitted last year that that trust — assuming at one point they actually had it — is long gone and they need to restore it. He didn't last long.
The problem, of course, is that CNN claims to be fair and without bias, yet anti-conservative views have long been part of its DNA, as the network's on-air talent routinely bases its reports on Democratic Party talking points. Even token conservatives on the network are a joke, and sound more like liberal pundits.
The struggling network is now desperately trying to get out of its death spiral, and step one is to cut costs by axing the remaining big name talents who have extremely large salaries.
New CEO Mark Thompson is preparing ruthless cuts to remake the network as ratings plunge — leaving Anderson Cooper, Chris Wallace, Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper facing dates with the axman, a source says.
“Anderson knows he’s on the chopping block because he makes a whopping $20 million a year. He’s already started looking for a new gig!” a network insider exclusively tells In Touch. “Chris Wallace takes $8 million and figures he’s a likely target, too!”
Insiders say other network favorites — including $15 million man Blitzer and $8 million gent Tapper – are also bracing for the boot!

Wolf and Wallace and mid 70’s. Quit “working”.
These people are whores.
Who what when where why need to be said to inform not the rest of the crap. Subject bias, poor analysis, half truths and lies, and denigration of your audience have been their M.O. for decades so don’t let the swinging door hit you in the ass on the way out.
😭
No. Looks like nwrep doesn't fly commercial.
"The network discontinued operations on March 31, 2021."
DIE ALREADY!
He wasn't joking.
In the CNN video archives is a clip of a military band playing "Nearer My God, To Thee" outside of Turner's home. It's currently set to "hold until the end of the world is confirmed". That's really the status it has.
When Armageddon comes, this video of a band playing is supposed to be the very last thing that CNN broadcasts.
It would be funny as all get out if CNN didn't make it that far :-P
Sigh. If only they really were facing the axman.
One more reason why Freepers should NEVER post links to CNN.
Fox has worked very hard at alienating the right of center audience. They’re just aching to give away their viewers to some other network. Yet everybody else studiously refuses to serve a totally unserved market which is the MAGA base.
CNN could get good ratings and return to profitability very very fast if doing so or if enhancing shareholder value were their objective. Obviously its not. Their objective is clearly spreading Leftist propaganda and they will pursue that objective doggedly right to the very end.
How can all those “news” networks go down when they are so deeply funded by CIA Dark money? If anything, they’ll just have to cut or kill all the big money celebrity anchors. Plus, where else will all the big pharmacy and other “woke” corporations advertise?
They worked TIRELESSLY to vanquish Donald Trump.
Instead, they themselves were vanquished.
AI is taking over media faster than we can keep up with. Media as we know it is already dead they are just still functioning. Fox will soon follow.
Ted Turner said ,when he started CNN, that they would be on the air till the end of Armageddon and they would be playing Nearer My God to Thee.
If they do, the cable and satellite companies will take the ax to their carriage fee. Or just drop CNN. Why pay big money for small talent?
Ditto for the Clintons going to jail (or even being charged with anything).
News Nation.
When did CNN change the color of their logo from blue to a more appropriate red?
Yes, Please!
Well, apparently these lulu’s are willing for go down with the ship rather than make a run at fairness and honesty.
