That’s the question writer Kathryn Jezer-Morton posed in a recent column for New York Magazine’s The Cut.
“In her son’s case, I wouldn’t bet on it,” New York Times columnist Ross Douthat shot back on X.
He’s right.
Jezer-Morton is facing an age-old conundrum of parenthood: Kids rebel against their parents’ politics. Except, in 2024, the classic trend is being inverted.

Teens go against the grain, and the most rebellious thing a young person coming up in this ultra-progressive era — when left-wing politics are shoved down their throats by their schools, marketing campaigns and celebrities — can do today is swing right.
Sure. Convince him he’s a girl before age 8, give him hormones and cut off his testicles. Which is why they’re doing it.

My son, in a liberal city, is listening to Zach Bryan and country music, wearing work style clothes as a rebellion against his commie teachers. Perhaps he is not anxious to be drafted.

I think that Gen Z is probably also rebelling against liberals’ kick the can to the next generation as they add on trillions of debt that their elders have loaded onto the country.
Gen Z has a huge debt bequeathed to them, cannot buy a house, pay more for food and gas. And starting a family is a scary proposition with how insanely progressive so many young women have become.
My 19-year-old grandson has expressed fear by his college peers that after getting a college degree they won’t be able to get a job.
So huge debt, expensive food and gas, no house and maybe no wife with kids.
The pendulum keeps swinging.
This is how we know the left has gone too far. In the 1980s, I knew some ex-hippies who were distressed that their son had become an anarchist who did not believe in corporations or property rights...
And now rebels can’t go farther left because there is no farther left to go to, so they have to go right.

If they have fathers in their households, they probably see their fathers as simps.
They are being influenced by social media. The greatest insult is being called a "simp".
Honestly why wouldn’t they? Girls are psycho, want to be men.. reject all of the mystery of the Y Chromosome.
And there are some of those grannies that look like models.
It’s simply not safe.
