Sure. They’ve been there for years. But his puppets in the local government have just asked for Russia’s protection, which means that the garrison there will be activated shortly. 2014 all over again. Price of oil is going up, too. On the other hand, some major Chinese and Turkish banks are no longer taking Russian cash. So while Putin might pull the trigger, he won’t do it if he has a reasonable expectation of a flash in the pan on account of secondary sanctions making him cash strapped despite all his oil.

Since the Russian army is there in Transnistria, and Ukraine is at war with Russia, it has every right to attack and take the the ammo. Removing Russia from Transnistria must happen in whatever peace results from this conflict.
