“...more than 220,000 Russian citizens reside in Transnistria.”

They need to be rounded up and deported back to Ruzzia as an existential threat to Moldovan national and territorial security. By force if necessary.

Need someone to go out on the street with video camera, and ask Americans - “where is Moldova?”

The replies would be hilarious.

220,000 Russian citizens That does not come close to the number of Mexican, Honduran, Guatemalan, Venezuelan, etc. citizens now have migrated to the American Southwest. I wonder when they will demand status as a breakaway state. Whom would the UN Security support?

Criminal gangs, as one might expect, run the sliver of a country - the only thing going for it are the huge Soviet-era ammo dumps, close to thr border with Ukraine.

If they’re citizens of Russia, then they’re not citizens of Moldova, and should have no say in Moldovan government whatsoever.

Are you an advocate for illegal aliens voting in American elections? Hmmm, well, maybe so.....

And what the actual x are Moscow’s troops doing there? That used to be called invasion.

By that token we could land a division of Marines in Venezuela.

There’s not much the Russian Federation can easily do to help them.

Therefore, they should try to simmer down and hope for the best.

"Muh democracy" and all that.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, etc. would approve of what the Russian residents are doing there, for sure. :-O

Translation: NATO wants to get its grubby hands on the ammo at the Cobasna ammunition depot in Transnistria.
