U.S. journalist Tucker Carlson said on Tuesday that his lawyers warned him that the United States could arrest him on sanctions violations for conducting an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
“My lawyers, before I left … said you’re going to get arrested if you do this by the US government on sanctions violations,” Carlson said in an interview with podcaster Lex Fridman.
Carlson said he was happy to face such a risk and rejected the premise of such charges.
Carlson’s head lawyer reportedly said his freedom depended on the questions he asked Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“If you’re seen as too nice to him, you could get arrested when you come back,” Carlson’s lawyer reportedly said.
“You’re describing a fascist country. You’re saying that the U.S. government will arrest me if I don’t ask the questions they want asked?” the American journalist wondered.
Meanwhile, Carlson insists he wasn’t concerned for his safety in Russia at all.

Remember when Jane Fonda was arrested for her 1972 trip to North Vietnam? We were at war with North Vietnam.
I bet Marcus Maximus is practically orgasmic thinking about the possibility of it happening.
Oh, really?
I must have missed something.
Can you educate me by showing me where the US Congress declared war on Vietnam?
If they didn't, it would have been an illegal war, and I am sure our government would never do anything illegal.
so, rodman was arrested goign to speak with kim jong? or sean penn arrested for interviewing el chapo?
Don’t forget UMCREVMOM, can’t even imagine how she feels about this
After what I’ve seen since 2020, could happen. Maybe share a cell with Assange.
Great points.
Civil . . . Rights?
Civil Rights?
WE doon need no stinking Civil Rights.
After all FJB has said that no American cares about civil rights.
“You’re describing a fascist country. You’re saying that the U.S. government will arrest me if I don’t ask the questions they want asked?”
Tucker is a reporter not a journalist. There is a huge difference.
Oh yes! The zeepers are sure to be aquiver with excitement as they pass around the cheap vodka and sing drunken celebration songs in their heavy accents. 🍹
I’m guessing that Butthead Joe doesn’t want the questions posed by Tucker discussed so he’ll pass on the opportunity to charge him.
No, he let Vlad talk a lot because that’s what a good journalist does.
Peter Navarro, the J6ers, Douglass Mackey and possibly Tucker.
Do I live behind the Iron Curtain? Sure seems like it.

They would prefer to kill him. Ala Michael Hastings
• August 1964: The attacks in the Gulf of Tonkin spur Congress to pass the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which authorizes the president to “take all necessary measures, including the use of armed force” against any aggressor in the conflict
So technically our leaders never followed the Constitution nor the Supreme Court ruling about Lincoln attacking the South without Congress approval when it came to Vietnam to Declare War. Unfortunately we lost 58,000 troops in that “measures”.
Please read the following site, suits were filed over the “Vietnam measures” but the Supreme Court refused to consider the issue in any of the forms in which it was presented.
So the powers to be just did not have Congress declare war and the Supreme Court did not take up the cases which resulted from that failure. The Checks and Balances failed and the Court refused to review, they just thumbed their nose at us!

They were removed for clarity.
Glad Tucker ignored him.
