Barnard College has mandated that students remove any and all decorations featuring messages from their dorm rooms as a way to avoid “isolating those who have different views and beliefs” — just days after it was hit with a lawsuit accusing it of allowing antisemitism to run rampant.
Students at the New York City campus have until Wednesday to remove dry-erase boards, decorations, or messaging affixed to their doors, according to a letter sent out on Friday by Barnard College Dean Leslie Grinage and obtained by The Post. “While many decorations and fixtures on doors serve as a means of helpful communication amongst peers, we are also aware that some may have the unintended effect of isolating those who have different views and beliefs,” Grinage wrote.
“The goal is to be as clear as possible about the guardrails, and, meeting the current moment, do what we can to support and foster the respect, empathy and kindness that must guide all of our behavior on campus,” she added.

Stop communicating immediately!
(If this doesn’t qualify as hate speech, I guess id better check the latest rules.)
Such a far cry from places like this we had in college. I guess it may still be “a thing”.

so when exactly do these snowflakes get to learn how to deal with the real world ?
Looks like Hewitt Hall.
“”Barnard College has mandated that students remove any and all decorations featuring messages from their dorm rooms as a way to avoid “isolating those who have different views and beliefs” “”
Soooo, everyone is isolated to a single “official” view and belief?
Or are they isolated to no views and beliefs?
.
First Amendment Leslie, if someone does not like it they don’t have to read it.
.
The aggrieved group is all for free speech until it comes to antisemitism and celebrating Christmas.
Don’t worry snowflakes. You and your professors will still be able to post your Che Guevara, Viva Fidel posters.
I’ll never forget some university snowflake needing her safe space after some wrote Trump with sidewalk chalk. I believe after college she could not even get a job as a Walmart Greeter.
My girlfriend (now my wife of 50+ years) and I would walk the halls at OU after hours back in the early 1970’s. The Black Student Union had a poster on their closed door with the standard “Free Huey Newton” message.
Being an engineer, I aways had a pencil in my pocket. On the margin of the poster, I wrote: Prunes will set him free! I wrote it lightly so they could easily erase it, but they didn’t. It was there at least for a week.
Instead of punishing the wrongdoers, idiots just ban everyone from doing everything. They won’t be happy until we are all living in a bland a colorless world where we will all be victims of the state.
They only know two solutions to anything ban or mandate.
I would want to know who hates me and would want it to stay up
My Grandmother was, Class of 1901, Barnard.
Everytime I see this post I read the title as “Barnyard bans …”
An admission that these colleges can’t or won’t control their violent terrorist supporters and Muslim invaders.
