The official Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll asking attendees who Donald Trump should pick as his running mate yielded some interesting results.
The poll, which surveyed the largely MAGA faithful in attendance at the CPAC event in Maryland, found that South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy were tied as the top choice as Trump's running mate, winning 15 percent of the vote respectively.
Next in line was former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who is reportedly set to endorse Trump by headlining a fundraiser for him at his resort in Mar-a-Lago in March.
In third place, also tied, with eight percent, were New York Rep. Elise Stefanik and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, both of whom have enthusiastically backed the former president's campaign.
CPAC VP straw poll 1. 15% Ramaswamy & Noem (TIE) 3. 9% Tulsi Gabbard 4. 8% Stefanik & Tim Scott (TIE) 6. 7% Donalds 7. 6% Lake 8. 5% Carson/DeSantis/Sander (TIE)

Former Trump HUD Secretary, Dr. Ben Carson, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders all scored five percent, while Tucker Carlson and Independent 2024 presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. scored four and three percent, respectively.

He should pick Haley for ambassador to Antarctica.
Donalds has gravitas, is outspoken, and smart. Carson is smart but not politically savvy. Vivek is very well outspoken, but not nuts and bolts political. Noem has good record. Kari lake needs to be a senator or congresswoman for a while. Tim Scott is OK...needs to be in senate a bit longer.DeSantis...needs to make Florida pass New York in population to start taking away old dying new york city out of national politics. Then ready for national role after name and rep solidified.
DeSantis/Noem/Donalds/McClintock 2028???
Gabbard not ready for leadership in GOP...may need to join GOP, but I am troubled by per proabortion history.
IMHO...opinion is subject to change.
J. D. Vance is the best choice in my opinion.
I vote for Donalds.
Maybe she is a probe to see what kind of support she can draw away from NeverTrumperz and to expose the number of NeverTrumperz there are. Plus she is using Den talking points so when they use it during election it wl seem like political blah blah.
That was cold...
There was a great article a few days ago explaining why Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas is the perfect pick. I thought it made HUGE sense.
But he’s nowhere to be seen in the Veepstakes.
Too new...Keep him blasting away in Senate..Get some national footprint and success then, yeah....I think candidates need a good record and national exposure and success..
White guys come in last.
I think it’s going to be Kristi Noem
She is a good choice on paper but I am troubled by stance on queer and tranny issues
I hope you're not referring to Tom McClintock, the former conservative who has gone over to the dark side.
“Kari lake needs to be a senator or congresswoman for a while.”
Trump didn’t first run for Senator or Congressman. I think Lake would be an outstanding pick, would learn the ropes quickly, would get things done, and would be well-trained for 2028. Generally speaking, Senators make terrible presidents. It’s too easy to hide out as one of 100. Somehow, Obama broke through that, but he wasn’t in the Senate very long.
Dem talking points...not ‘den”...I hate these nanny spell checkers..
Good points...but I feel if she has a successful legislative record it always looks better...same with Vivek...I like Donalds but he needs some seasoning...but he is a keeper if he doesn’t wobble..
The main thing to do is get rid of the “woke” delusion...
GJT’s VP pick will be a dark horse. He doesn’t have to check boxes, like the socialist Dims.
He must pick someone as objectionable to the uni-party globalists as himself.
Otherwise, he’ll be “ eliminated “. He can’t afford to make a Pence/Bush type choice.
The very idea would send a shiver down a penguin’s spine.
I’m sure she’d get an icy reception there.
Well he didn’t vote to impeach Mayorkas...but he made some good points about why he didn’t..
Cause if they can get rid of Mayorkas...Biden will appoint another “puppet” clown....Plus the senate won’t impeach the man..(will expose their political depravity)...
But McClintock needs to step up his game....to push very hard for rational conservative laws...if he goes squishy he needs to be primaried out.
For what I can tell Vivek does not satisfy the NBC requirement of eligibility to be considered as a potential President or Vice President office holder.
