Are we women supposed to be brood mares until we keel over or be celibate while our husbands seek solace elsewhere?
Brood mares.
If one sees humanity as whole as your primary concern, or such a subset of it that represents your community.
The alternative requires an individualist pov. That is generally a wrong take in Christian ethics.
So you’re fine with women on the pill having a suicide rate three times great than women who aren’t and a much higher rate of depression?
There are non-chemical ways to not get pregnant.

My wife and I waited until marriage (she was 21, and I was 24). We recognized the downside of sex without committment: giving up something very special, to someone we might not end up married to; the risk of an unplanned pregnancy; and the possibility of getting an std. On our first date, she made herself clear, saying she would never take the ‘pill’. She saw some health downsides, like higher blood pressure and weight gain She wasn’t particularly religious back then, so that wasn’t a factor.
We were both late bloomers, so I believe that helped us delay the mating urge some. I finished growing (6’2”) at age 19, I still was still only shaving about 1 or 2 times a week. A very skinny 5’7” hs grad, she turned into a real doll around 19. I was seeking the prettiest girl with good morals I could find, but by 23 I put myself in some steamy situations that I had to shut down (a couple that almost reached the point of no return).
Our was the classic wedding night: excited, yet clumsily learning, lol.
She taught me to not expect ‘it’ every night, but the wait was worth it (and still is over 45 years later).
The instant gratification mindset doesn’t build character, just a spoiled brat attitude.
"Do you give the horse her strength or clothe her neck with a flowing mane? Do you make her leap like a locust, striking terror with her proud snorting? She paws fiercely, rejoicing in her strength, and charges into the fray. She laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; she does not shy away from the sword. The quivler rattles against her side, along with the flashing spear and lance. In frenzied excitement she eats up the ground; she cannot stand still, when the trumpet sounds."
You could choose worse analogies than "brood mare" for a fertile, husband & baby loving wife.
There’s nothing wrong with birth control if it’s safe and healthy. Musk is saying this particular method is unhealthy. What’s wrong with saying that?
There are other options beside having two dozen children or destroying your body with hormones.
