Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo used Saturday’s Directors Guild of America awards ceremony to demand a “ceasefire” in Gaza. “We’re not going to bomb our way to peace,” he said at the A-list celebrity event.
Mark Ruffalo was in attendance at the 76th Annual DGA Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills to help honor his Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos.
The actor took time on the red carpet to explain to Deadline his lapel pin representing Artists for Ceasefire.
Ruffalo said the group is “calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. There are 1,200 Israelis dead and 27,000 Palestinians,” he said, apparently neglecting to mention that the Hamas terrorist organization instigated the current war on October 7 by murdering said 1,200 Israelis.

Were to chicken, but Israel can and will bomb their way to peace.
History shows they can’t talk their way into peace either. So, which option most protects Israeli’s now?
Well that’s a pretty cute sounding little soundbite, but if anyone with a brain thinks about it, bombing that wipes out Hamas will certainly go a long way toward peace!

Unfortunately true, because Israel isn't going to carry out the sort of bombing that led to peace in Japan and Germany in 1945. They'll need to use lots of artillery and infantry as well.
I vote for him to go to Gaza and start negotiations with Hamas. They’ll welcome him with open arms...

Wrong!!! In the case of dealing with Hamas, like dealing with the Nazis and Empirical Japan before them, completely destroying Hamas is the ONLY thing that will lead to a lasting peace.
An Israeli ceasefire would in fact stop the fighting - long enough for Hamas to rebuild.
Was just about to make the same point. The phrase “We can’t bomb our way to peace” sounds nice and catchy, but it is demonstrably untrue: we bombed our way out of WWII. And then made allies out of those we bombed.
It still took more than bombing alone, at least in the case of Germany. And I’m pretty sure that Israel isn’t going to nuke Gaza, tempting as that might be.
Oh, that guy. Can’t stand him.
Permanent ceasefire in Gaza? Yeah, that’s what Hamas wants. They’re free to kill Israelis but Israel is supposed to sit there and take it. There’s a reason they aren’t welcome anywhere.
Obama wants the Israeli / Hamas war ended before Michelle starts campaigning.
