A Ukrainian “coup” in 2015 that ousted the country’s pro-Moscow president put Russian and Ukraine on the path to war, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a much-touted interview with conservative pundit Tucker Carlson released Thursday.

The Russian president in the two-hour interview also said peace talks with Ukraine early in the conflict had been “almost finalized” in 2022 before the U.S. and its European allies blocked further progress.

...

Peace negotiations were “almost finalized after we withdrew our troops from Kyiv, but then the other side threw away all the agreement and obeyed the instructions of European countries and the U.S. to fight to the bitter end,” Mr. Putin contended at one point.

If Mexico was overthrown in a coup by white Christian Nationalists, we would nuke them!

Yup...we were indeed the ones who forced Yanokyvich (sp) out and installed the Chocolate King, a serious dictator who hated everything Russian.

Wait a minute! I thought the alleged coup was in 2014, NOT 2015.

The Russians in the Kremlin and in eastern Ukraine might have been upset, but most Russians would simply endure the unpleasant, which is the usual Russian way.

The Russians may have been miffed over the years, but they now have about 150,000 dead and the greatly amplified hatred of Ukrainians.

I suspect that the Russians are fine with the Ukrainians hating them, as long as they fear them as well.

Sucks to be a Zeeper.

more paranoid nonsense

Yanukovich was a Russian stooge that was selling out Ukraine, as per the Russian plan

the Ukrainian people threw this traitor out, with good reason

Putin is just pissed that his subterfuge plan didn’t work

That same pro-Russian President sold the Ukrainian treasury to a Russian firm, which then looted the country.

As well as the contract for the medals for the operation to occupy Crimea were placed before the Maidan Revolution.

The Russian government tried to buy off the Ukrainian government, and had planned to invade and occupy Crimea and Eastern Ukraine as a back against failure.

Facts the pro-Russian camp pretend do not exist.

They didn’t. They seceded.

The Russians didn’t intervene soon enough.

If they had, Mariupol would have not been re-captured by Azov/National Guard in 2014.

Who the hell do you think you are fooling ?

If Canada by some miracle got a Nationalist Prime Minister, and seceded from Globohomo.

The first thing that would happen is a US backed Color Revolution, with a Canadian Zelensky installed.

Obama installed that Ukraine “Yats is our guy!” government through good old-fashioned subversion, violence and color-revolution - fair-and-square.

What’s Putin complaining about?

Nobody seems to remember the Cuban Missile Crisis. Russian nukes barely 90 miles from the US. What’s the difference between that and, say, when nuke-armed NATO is similarly situated to Russia?

Because Russia is and was a hostile country to us and other peaceful countries and thus constituted a threat and still does.
