Sounds like Lankford is suffering from a case of hurt feelings after his bill was summarily dismissed and now, he’s acting out like a teenage girl against those who rejected it which is pretty much everyone in the Republican Party except McConnell

Among other things, it was to “balance the books” for Bill Clinton. They truly fear Trump for the threat of exposure he poses. That being said, the Trial would have received lots of media attention, and it would have given the Republicans a stage to present a lot of evidence that might not ever be revealed as Washington just moves from one scandal to another.
It has to be money or sex. Given his background it is probably underaged sex.
Oklahomans need to demand his resignation.

Heritage Action for America, a Conservative rating site, gives Lankford a 51% rating. By comparison/contrast, Ted Cruz is 88%.
From a national PR perspective and as a sound Senate -House negotiating strategy , it may be be wise not to be popping off in such an arrogant, ill advised and divisive fashion.
Especially given how badly his disaster of a border work product is being received and how badly Mayorkas is disliked even by Democrats.
Lankford acts like an impudent child. A spoiled brat.
