U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken tried to meet privately with Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi on Wednesday, without Israel’s elected leaders present, before the meeting was blocked by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Blinken is currently on a visit to Israel to discuss hostage negotiations and the Biden administration’s goal of a Palestinian state.

The Times of Israel reported:

A previously scheduled one-on-one meeting between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi will not take place, amid reports that the Prime Minister’s Office opposed a meeting between a foreign diplomat and the military without the presence of elected leaders.

Biden is the a show President who lives for meaningless gesture politcs to generate a false propaganda narrative.

He made big show of sending aircraft carriers to the Med because that's what Presidents do in military crisis. And he talked real tough for the reporters to fawn over him as a war time president, but he had no intention or desire to follow through.

Now he is trapped in a conflict of his own making and he is being overtaken by events in an election year.

Joe is playing politics with the lives of every single Israeli.

He has just about succeeded in creating a wholly irretrievable situation for them.

Almost no one in senior Israeli military and intelligence offices is a friend of Bibi either.

Why would a ‘Palestinian state’ be a goal of any American administration? How would such a state make anything better for us?

From the administration's point of view, it would be a step towards eliminating the state of Israel and killing off those people the administration so detests.

Which probably why Blinken tried to go behind Neteyahu’s back. Would not be surprised one bit if it was to encourage a coup of sorts.

“Why would a ‘Palestinian state’ be a goal of any American administration? How would such a state make anything better for us?”

I want a Palestinian state and I’m a Jew. This is my vision of a Palestinian state:

1. Egypt agrees to provide the land in Sinai for the new Palestinian state.

2. The new Palestinian state will be green. This is to demonstrate to the world what a 100% green society would look like. It includes all infrastructure, homes, roads and commerce. International firms will participate in the construction.

3. The UN will move its headquarters to the new Palestinian state capitol. At the new UN, there will be a formal vote admitting the new Palestinian state to the UN.

4. Media from all over the world will come to the new UN to celebrate and report on the new Palestinian state.

On that day, nuke the place from orbit just to be certain.

The peace treaty between Israel and Egypt restricts the number of troops allowed in the Philadelphi Corridor and Sisi is adamantly against Israel bringing in any more troops to that area for fear that that would push the Palestinians into the Sinai. If Israel goes ahead anyway Egypt could nullify that treaty and send troops of their own there to confront the IDF opening up another war front Israel would have to fight against. This at a time when they are about to engage Hezbollah in the north. How many fronts can Israel handle?

I believe that Israel has gamed the invasion of Lebanon ad nauseum, and for decades it has planned securing the land south of the Litani River.

The last time Israel tried that in 2006 they were driven out by Hezbollah and Hezbollah has gotten much stronger in the interim. And if Hezbollah enters the war it’s also likely that other state actors in the region enter the war against Israel. The US can only do so much to assist Israel with the limited military assets we have in the region.

Israel is taking a huge gamble risking a regional spread of this war, seems like they are going for broke. Personally I think they are seriously underestimating the military strength of their enemies and overestimating the assistance the US can provide for them. I stand by my earlier prediction that a regional war would mark the beginning of the end for Israel.

In 2006 Israel took too large a chunk of Lebanon. This time they will be more specific. By the way, the population south of the Litani is only about 100,000.
