Nikki Haley has lost big to Donald Trump in both Iowa and New Hampshire, and the coming states aren’t looking any better for her. But at a local BBQ joint here Thursday, Haley railed against the “political elite pushing us to name a nominee when only two states have voted.”
“Why would we stop now?” asked Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and ambassador to the United Nations.
The crowd was with her.
“Don’t stop!” her supporters shouted. “Don’t stop! Don’t stop!”
The message belied the realities on the ground — realities that haven’t escaped her own backers. Haley is on track to lose each of the GOP’s first four major nominating contests by significant margins

As far as I’m concerned, Haley should stay in as long as possible - she’s wasting big money from NeverTrump donors, and that’s a good thing.
I think she’s running for 2028 more than actually thinking she stands a chance in 2024. Like they did with Romney after 2008, the liberal media and Republican establishment will declare her the “candidate in waiting” for 2028 and shower her with money and media attention for the next four years.

Primaries are good. Primaries are healthy. But it some point, it’s time to drop the internal bickering, and unite. That time is when the frontrunner cannot be caught. DeSantis realized this.
Haley evidently does not. Is it her ego? Is it the backing of anti-Trump money? Or is Haley ghoulishly hoping for something bad to happen to Trump?
Whichever possibility it is, it makes her look like trash.
She’s going big, towards becoming the second “Mike Huckabee”, iow, a former governor and a former presidential candidate, with no political career in her future. So, though her chances are less than zero, she’s got nothing more to lose, so ‘don’t stop now’ and get a few more fifteen minutes of fame before you get sent into permanent retirement. But, there’s still the Mike Huckabee path there, with FOX news appearances and Relaxium Sleep commercials (though she’ll likely choose MSNBC or CNN instead) Better than nothing.
