What source do you suggest we trust to analysis this bill? CNN? National Review

I don’t “trust” any one source and I also don’t chose sources that I always agree with.
No. Yes.

Others (for this issue) - Reason, Heritage. Plus I review the bill myself as it’s “short” enough that sections on specific items can be read.

People in OK have long been warned about the perfidy of this man, but they keep voting for Lankford, I guess because they recognize the name on a ballot.

People in NC and OK can be so uninformed that it is embarrassing to them.

Has this clown always been a Judas, or just now?

No, not really. He's always been a Convenient Conservative. He's a carpetbagger Baptist boy from somewhere in Texas who couldn't get elected dog catcher back home, so he moved to Oklahoma and took a high-visibility job at a Baptist summer camp (don't get knocked up, Susie) called Falls Creek and then ran for the State House, then State Senate, then US Senate, propped up by the Baptist vote all along.

Kinda like Milt and the mormon vote in Utah, and not far removed from Milt in terms of what kinda guy he really is. He'll stab the whole country in the ass for his own political benefit if he figures it's worth it, in whatever sick sort of way he thinks about things. Obviously.

Maybe Mitch promised to make him minority leader or something.

Oh, and back home, since you asked, he is being propped by some prominent Republicans who ought to know better, and "Conservative" talk radio. He isn't up again until 2028, so the thinking must be to just let it become status quo and the suckers will go along next time too.

***Ahem*** Lankford's first constituency, actually, is the Southern Baptist Church, which is schizo in it's flailing between Conservative Christianity and more recently (last 50 years or so) its white racial guilt, born from its support of slavery back in antebellum days.

Can't say they're quite as visible as Catholic Charities in their logistical support of the invasion (Dubya's faith-based initiatives, don't you know), but yeah... we all God's chilluns...

But yes of course you're right about certain big ag, COC interests as well. To a venal, ambitious ** like Lankford it's a career opportunity. Seriously, one can't help but wonder if Mitch is grooming him for (possibly) minority leader.

Honestly I don't see a record of him holding the line against the communists, yet. This deal is nothing but surrender to a communist revolution, though, should it pass.

The trivial side story of whether this makes or breaks Mike Johnson politically will be told soon enough. One can bet that the pressure is on.

Ginger man bad. C’mon Oklahoma, you can find someone a lot better, that isn’t compromised (yet).

Even if this bill passed it would still be more than 5000 per day. It would be another law nobody would enforce.

They called illegal aliens because they are aliens meaning from another/foreign country and they have entered our sovereign country illegally...

They remain illegal aliens during the time they are within our borders...

There is no law which makes them legal...

A crime does not become a ‘non-crime’ just because Joe says so...

All Joe’s sinister whispered threats cannot make the illegal aliens be legally in our country...

This is set up so that Presidet TRump will not be able to close the border via executive order, nor will he be able to complete the wall.

Why is that fact not being questioned or revealed?

This bill will assure that TRump will be hamstrung on dealing with the border solutions he can bring outside Congress.

NOT GOOD!

Lankford needs to be voted out. He is totally out in left field. Maybe he is lining his pockets since its hard to understand his thinking.

Our immigration laws have been weak for years.

**************

Basically ever since Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue in 1492.
The invaders rounded up the natives, put them on reservations
and them began importing Africans to do the labor both male
and female. There was a civil war in the mid 1800s to free the
slaves and make them full citizens with all the trimmings.

Essentially you get what you promote and allow. Like it or not.

There was a Texas guard...said they were coming in at a rate of 3000-4000 a day. Texas put up the wire. The guard said the rate is now about 3 a day. And he had a few words for Biden.
