Post 28 was irrelevant and you knew that, I also figured that you would answer my inquiry with something like “neither” and I was correct.

Your posts have all been irrelevant to post 19.

All accurate. When the Kiev putsch tried to gain control of all of old Ukraine, they met resistance in the east from people in the east and Crimea who opted out of the coup.
There was was no invasion of Crimea.... unless you count back in 1782.

I get it, you support Biden, Nuland, the neo-nazi movement, Hunter, Abromovitch the Spirit Cooker, Sean Penn, Macron, Trudeau, NATO, Boris Johnson, Merkel, Ursula Von Der Crazy, the German greens, all of American Academia, Hollywood, the entire MSM and Sean Hannity etc....

The problem with 1950s 152mm artillery is much shorter range than modern guns, as well as relative inaccuracy. This puts them at a bad disadvantage in counterbattery duels with modern guns.

It is also a factor in coverage. Short ranged artillery can cover a smaller sector of the front, so one needs more guns emplaced to put a given degree of fire on any given spot. This is less efficient overall.

Counterbattery has become critical in this war, as the means of detection have become vastly more accurate and effective. Losing guns to counterbattery isnt just about losing guns, its also about casualties to the gunners, who arent that easily replaced.

BTW I see that the Russians are now deploying 130mm guns, the former long range medium artillery of the Cold War, long since superceded by the 152mm “long” guns.

that ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine initiated when they declared independence in 2014.

They had the same right as the Svoboda, Azov and western Uke militias had when they seized Kiev.
When you overthrow a government you don’t automatically inherit everything the old government you killed possessed. You only control what you can take by force.
Kiev invaded the east to try to bring eastern Ukraine under the control of the putsch, and it also served to get the Azov and Svoboda idiots out of Kiev.
After a coup, the last thing you need is a bunch of surly militants hanging around with nothing to do but stare at the new government.

So they sent them east.

They do.

Indisputably. Not even disputed by Ukraine. Or anyone in NATO.

“All accurate.”

Nope.

“When the Kiev putsch tried to gain control of all of old Ukraine...”

What a crock. The government in Kiev DID control all of Ukraine; as Ukraine was still intact and sovereign before the Russian invasion and Russian-fomented civil war of 2014.
It has been seeking to retain full control of all of Ukraine ever since.

“...they met resistance in the east from people in the east and Crimea who opted out of the coup.”

There was no coup. The Ukrainian parliament (Rada) — which contained a significant number of Yanukovych’s Party of Regions, by the way — voted to remove him from office (which it — the Rada — was constitutionally allowed to do). Yanukovych claimed it was a coup, but international mediators (Poland, Germany, France) said it was not; as the Rada’s vote to remove Yanukovych complied with the Ukrainian constitution.

“There was was no invasion of Crimea.... unless you count back in 1782.”

Yeah, there was (with help from internal elements). Even if local elements in Crimea welcomed in the Russian troops (whom — by the way — were already in Crimea at the naval base in Sevastopol, which it was leasing from Ukraine), those elements had no legal authority at all to do so (which is evidenced by the fact those elements raided and took control of Ukrainian government offices in Crimea).

“I get it, you support Biden, Nuland, the neo-nazi movement, Hunter, Abromovitch the Spirit Cooker, Sean Penn, Macron, Trudeau, NATO, Boris Johnson, Merkel, Ursula Von Der Crazy, the German greens, all of American Academia, Hollywood, the entire MSM and Sean Hannity etc....”

Nice try, kid. As is so common with people who can’t argue the facts, you assume facts that are not in evidence, jump to conclusions, and rush to judgment. I support Ukraine defending itself against an unwarranted invasion by a larger and stronger neighbor, REGARDLESS who our president is or who Ukraine’s president is, or who their lackeys are. It is no more complicated than that.

“You need to quit being so gullible.”

YOU are the one who is gullible, kid.

“They had the same right as the Svoboda, Azov and western Uke militias had when they seized Kiev.”

Too funny! Did they seize the Ukrainian government? No. Did they seize the Ukrainian Parliament (Rada)? No. Did they declare independence from Ukraine? No. Yanukovych was legally removed by the Ukrainian parliament.

“When you overthrow a government you don’t automatically inherit everything the old government you killed possessed.”

The only people who overthrew their government were the pro-Russia secessionists in eastern Ukraine when they raided and occupied and drove out the Ukranian officials, thus starting the civil war.

“You only control what you can take by force.”

Which is what Russia and the secessionists did. That does not make it legal. Nor were the referenda legal, as they did not comply with the Ukrainian constitution.

“Kiev invaded the east to try to bring eastern Ukraine under the control of the putsch, and it also served to get the Azov and Svoboda idiots out of Kiev.”

How in the hell can a country invade itself? Invasion necessarily implies attacking another country or area outside one’s own borders. The Ukrainian government responded to an insurrection and civil war; it invaded no one.

You just claimed the 2014 Annexation and Crimea and the 2/24/22 Ukraine invasion are the same thing.

“You just claimed the 2014 Annexation and Crimea and the 2/24/22 Ukraine invasion are the same thing.”

Nice try, Frick (aka Mrs. Frack). I said that 2022 was an escalation of 2014. They were part of the same overall operation, or goal; but they differed in intensity. Go back and re-read my post #132.

You’re really bad at this Frick (aka Mrs. Frack).
