The Russian military has concentrated about 40,000 troops, more than 500 tanks, and 650 armored combat vehicles near Kupyansk, Illya Yershash, the head of the press service of the Khortytsia operational and strategic troop grouping, said on national television on Feb. 2.
In the Lyman-Kupyansk sector of the front, Ukrainian defenders eliminated more than 228 troops and 75 pieces of weapons, including tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, video surveillance systems, and various types of field electronic warfare equipment.
The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War said on Jan. 21 that Russian forces had advanced along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line and captured Krokhmalne in Kharkiv Oblast. Later, Volodymyr Fitio, head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, confirmed this.
The Offensive Guard said that the retreat of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the village of Krokhmalne was not a "problematic situation" because it "cannot be considered a settlement."

When your a million dead in (soldiers, mercenaries, prisoners), double down and go till your out of equipment. Then get more equipment from China and N. Korea, draft some more people and do it again.

What was said here when we invaded Iraq. Those who questioned it then were right, and those in Russia with the same question per their invasion are right as well. Putins hubris, Russian and Ukrainian lives. Somethings never change.

Oh yes, the Russian artillery certainly works and it is vastly superior to what USA has. And after if you years of war they certainly know how to use it unlike the new dei recruits in USA.

Vicky Nuland was having one of them there “organisms” yesterday when she was talking about the “surprises” that The NATO has in store for The Putin this year.
There were allegedly 100,000 massed a few months ago, ready to descend on the Ukrainians on the eastern section of the front - Kupyansk too I believe. I think we have seen their efforts already.
Then why are we seeing all this video of 1950s era artillery?
Vastly superior it isnt. They bought a lot of artillery ammo from the NKs. Thats certainly not high tech.
