The failed political operation to make DeSantis the GOP presidential nominee cost $168 million

The pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down reported payments of more than $130.6 million in 2023 while a newer super PAC Fight Right reported $9.6 million between mid November and December. His own campaign spent $28.3 million from May to December.

DeSantis relied on support from outside groups more than any other major candidate since a U.S. Supreme Court 2010 ruling paved the way for super PACs.

From the way desanctimonious is still trying to keep his name in the news, he's still campaigning to be president, without an actual campaign...

So he's still hoping the rnc or lawfare takes Trump out of contention for the republican presidential nominee, so he still has a chance of being picked as the swamp GOPe rino uniparty candidate...

And he still has $96 million cash on hand, in the neverbackdown super pac.

168 Million? That’s a lot of money. Probably more than Trump will spend in legal fees.

You aren't fooling anyone...

My intent is to shine the light of truth on all things Trump. Sorry if that offends you but being a bootlicker for Trump is not the mark of a true conservative.

Gee. FReepers here are GLAD to pay for the millions of dollars in legal fees. I guess they also don’t mind a measly quarter million also went to keep Melania looking pretty.

DeSantis lucked into the Florida governorship and is thinking like a gambler who had a hot run but then crapped out. He hopes that the hot streak start will somehow start up again after a short break.

How much will Birdbrain make after her fundraising efforts in Miami with Democrat mega donors? Will she eclipse the DeSanctus coffers?

$168 million is a lot of money. You could probably sign a top MLB shortstop for that. It's still well short of what Taylor Swift and Kylie Jenner have made. Of course, Taylor Swift and Kylie Jenner are doing something important. It's probably unfair to compare something trivial like contesting the presidency to pop culture queens and professional athletes.

It helps to save money that Trump likes to stiff his lawyers.

Could be the reason he has such pitbulls in the court room.

I don’t think Packer likes DeSantis who is not in the race anymore, you are right though a lot of Trumps money he raises is going to Lawyers and will be for a while

Surprise, surprise, it costs more and more money every election cycle. Trump racked up one billion when he was the incumbent and only had to beat one candidate.

Why should I care that a DeSantis SuperPAC spent $168m of their own money?

I’m more concerned about Presidents that add $7.8 trillion to the national debt while they are in office for four years.

sometimes spending a lot of money to make the entire country think you are a “plausible” person to be president is worth it.

Biden 1988

Biden 2008

he convinced enough people to make it easier to get to the Whitehouse in 2020
