The Biden Administration has reversed many of the Trump-era policies that stemmed the tide of illegal immigration into the United States. As a result, convicted‐criminal‐alien encounters—including assaults, rapes, and homicides—have spiked during President Biden’s time in office.
At some point, a wall of lead might be necessary.

That's pretty damn stupid if you ask me. Of all the things he could do like block federal funds to so many programs he goes right for the energy neck in winter. In essence he's saying his open borders is more important than any other program or service the fed provides to Texas. So chalk at least one state not on his side come November. Probably lots more.

I'm sorry, but this statement, attributed to Abbott, doesn't strike me as being particularly "strong." A strong statement, it seems to me, would have been along the lines of "if they try to cut it, we will stop them. By whatever means necessary."
I fear that for all their bluster, the Texans are more or less LARPing at "defiance" at this point. I guess we'll see.
