This has not been well thought out, but it is being done to appease all of the pro Palestinian protesters that are going on about Israel’s conduct of the war in Gaza. I am not surprised that they are going to do this even if Israel doesn’t go along with it, but you see Israel will have to go along with it, since we are paying for the Israeli army and the war in Gaza.

The average Israeli citizen is not paying enough money per Israel, GDP to fund this war

We are not paying for the Israeli Army.

As part of a record $38 billion agreement over ten years negotiated under former US President Barack Obama in 2016, US military aid to Israel exceeded $3.8 billion in 2023. Of the $3.8 billion in military aid given to Israel this year, half a billion was for Israel’s missile defense.

Israel’s annual defense budget is around $23 billion. Hence, our aid amounts to about 20% of the total defense budget.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Israel was worth 525 billion US dollars in 2022, according to official data from the World Bank.
