US Considering Recognizing Palestinian State Without Negotiations With Israel
Red State ^ | 01/31/2024 | streiff

Posted on 01/31/2024 8:33:07 PM PST by SeekAndFind

The Biden White House intends to pursue a policy of recognizing a Palestinian state at the end of the Israel-Hamas War without the participation of the Israeli government. Along with bilateral recognition, the Biden White House contemplates urging other states to do the same and permitting that Palestinian state to join the United Nations. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron says the United Kingdom will do the same to bring about "irreversible progress to a two-state solution."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on January 21, "I will not compromise on full Israeli security control over all the territory west of Jordan - and this is contrary to a Palestinian state." While the Palestinians, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad are driving away in that Cadillac El Dorado, the set of steak knives that will be offered to Netanyahu after this public repudiation will be "normalized" relations with Saudi Arabia.

Allegedly, Secretary of State Antony Blinken is favoring a "demilitarized" state because that worked so well in Gaza.

In what has sort of become a metaphor for all of Joe Biden's foreign policy decisions, the Biden regime doesn't seem to know what its policy is. While Blinken's people were leaking that a policy rethinking was underway, the National Security Council was caught with its jaw hanging down.

  • A White House National Security Council spokesperson said it "has been longstanding U.S. policy that any recognition of a Palestinian state must come through direct negotiations between the parties rather than through unilateral recognition at the UN. That policy has not changed."
  • The State Department declined to comment.

There are three sticking points. First, the boundaries of this new terrorist empire have to be set. No one knows what that would look like. Second, the obvious impact of what will be an Iranian-controlled terror state bordering Israel that could have mutual defense treaties with other nations hostile to Israel and UN representation doesn't seem to have been considered. Third, everyone appears to be assuming away the high probability that Israel will refuse to accept this terror state.

If this happens, it effectively kills Trump's Abraham Accords by bringing Palestinian demands back to the center of Middle East geopolitics. It will be nearly impossible for any Arab nation to continue relations with Israel if Israel refuses to accept the strategy of rolling bilateral recognition agreements that the White House envisages.

Unless this is derailed, we have effectively abandoned our tacit alliance with Israel and handed a massive strategic victory to the country that will control the government in this new state.

President Trump will simply de-recognize it.

Yes he will. Let’s go Brandon.

Why would the US need permission from Israel to negotiate with the Palestinians?

Would would we need permission from the Ukrainians to negotiate with the Russians?

What am I missing?

I have a serious question

If there is a Palestinian country that forest a missle at another country Israel , what will happen then ? Is that a declaration of war ? An all out war ? Curious

That’s a great question! It will be like 5 seconds before this new nation attacks Israel and starts a war to exterminate Jews. The UN will probably will say it was ok, because it’s corrupt, and declare against Israel. The will embargo against Israel, prevent it from getting weapons or doing trade. Those nations that have backed the problem since 1948, will then openly be at war with Israel again. The newest ‘Obama-Biden’ foreign policy is just a promise of another regional, and probable international conflict. The US will be drawn in, as well as China and Russia.

Honestly, this sounds like something that only an idiot would propose. The United States gets absolutely nothing but another world war. Stupid.

If only the Biden Regime would consider actually pandering to regular Americans instead of every freak leftist and crazy group on the planet.

Except it's not the Biden Regime. It's Obama, as the puppet of the global left.

I assume this is about getting Muslim Americans to vote for Biden.

Yes, but there's actually more to it because it will probably increase his support among young Jewish voters who are upset at Biden over what Israel is doing. If you're interested in having your hair hurt more over how Biden pursuing such a dangerous and foolhardy policy of recognizing a Palestinian state could help him among Jewish voters, check out this analysis in the Jerusalem Post of a November poll of young Jewish voters here: Nearly half of young Jewish voters feel Biden overly supports Israel - poll.

Unless this is derailed, we have effectively abandoned our tacit alliance with Israel and handed a massive strategic victory to the country that will control the government in this new state: Biden’s friends in Iran - the Mad Mullahs.

We are not paying for the Israeli Army.

As part of a record $38 billion agreement over ten years negotiated under former US President Barack Obama in 2016, US military aid to Israel exceeded $3.8 billion in 2023. Of the $3.8 billion in military aid given to Israel this year, half a billion was for Israel’s missile defense.

Israel’s annual defense budget is around $23 billion. Hence, our aid amounts to about 20% of the total defense budget.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Israel was worth 525 billion US dollars in 2022, according to official data from the World Bank.

Yeh...Let’s remember...Palestinians are Muslims...through and through....and support Hamas...

And besides worshiping death, they have rejected a “Palestinian State” 4-5 times, plus they refuse to accept any such state as long as Israel exists.

It won’t appease any voters. They don’t want a Palestinian state in the Gaza and West Bank. The lack of a “state” is the least of their problems. They have no idea how to manage their own affairs and if they don’t fight Israel they will fight themselves. They have about a million so-called refugees living in Lebanon who will want to move in - where will they move? Will the people living there want these Lebanese Palestinians to move in? Who will provide them electricity? Water? Sewage treatment. What currency will they use? What will be their industrial and export base? Where will they get food? Will they be a constitutional democracy or a theocracy or technocracy and who will run their internal security and will this internal security prevent rogue terrorists groups from cross border raids?

Yes this idea would seem to reward them for the 10/7 attacks but I also think it’s a case of be careful what you ask for. US can recognize a Palestinian state but Israel doesn’t have to and can pull all support for it. No electricity, no water, no gas, no trade, no money, no cooperation, borders shut tight. Let them trade with Egypt and Jordan since those countries love the Palestinians and have so much to offer!

At the rate Gaza is being destroyed, the only territory the PLO will have will be the West Bank. Once those pumps are turned on, Gaza will become one giant sink hole.

That’s all we get from the Biden regime, and Republicans can’t even say the word “impeach” when it comes to him. Trump makes a simple phone call and Democrats impeach him before he can blink. Here we have 3 years of blatant treason by Biden, open borders, arming our enemies, empowering Iran, and he continues to waltz around eating ice cream.

That Land was given to the Jews in perpetuity by YWHW, to whom they have been dedicated for over 3000 years, speaking the same Hebrew language.....a fact unmatched by any other people in the world.

If our country goes against YWHW by recognizing these genocidal maniacs of Satan, it will put our nation on the wrong side of Divine Provdence....and our country will decline into oblivion.

How idiotic these leftist Biden cheaters are, and how will we rid ourselves of them? They are a pestilence on our nation.

Pray for president TRump and his protection by the good Lord of Zion.

YWHW is walking the Earth, and has little patience for these foul demons who infest America. But he insists that we battle them and emerge triumphant. If this so called recognition actually happens, America will no longer be free and that horrid unfree life will demand that we patriots act.

YWHW is here, just like in the old times when he protected the tribes of Israel:

The decision is already made and in the bag.

The decision is part and parcel of the Abraham accords. A new government that is agreed on by Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE will rule the present territory of Palestine. The American presence will not be principle. There will be no Euro input.

A White House National Security Council spokesperson said it "has been longstanding U.S. policy that any recognition of a Palestinian state must come through direct negotiations between the parties rather than through unilateral recognition at the UN.

Which kind of flies in the face of 75+ years of what has unfolded in the former British territory of Palestine.

The original (1947) UN plan for the partition of Palestine was not viable for a number of reasons, but it was a formal policy for the region and it was clearly aimed at developing what is consistent with a “two-state solution.”

Why do I need permission to negotiate with your next door neighbor who hates your guts and has tried to kill you on multiple occasions? After all, if I give him a room in your house, he will be much more peaceful for a little while, and I will get a favorable mention in the local media just a few months before my mayoral reelection.

Moron!
