EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is pushing back and adding more razor wire to the border fence after Monday's Supreme Court ruling that the border patrol can remove the wire along the southern border.
So far, the border patrol in the borderland has not cut down any of the razor wire.
In the meantime, Abbott says he won’t back down despite the Supreme Court’s ruling, and for now, plans to continue to secure the border however he wants to.
“What Governor Abbott is doing is not just unconstitutional, and it’s not just harmful to very vulnerable people, but it is impairing the border patrol's ability to do their job, and it’s the border patrol that is trained and equipped to address migration,” said Congresswoman Veronica Escobar.
Speaking in El Paso Monday, Escobar said she believes Abbott is out of line for adding more razor wire just a day after the Supreme Court issued the ruling.
Abbott posted on X saying, “The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line”
Texas law enforcement in Eagle Pass was also seen putting up more wire on Tuesday.

T Court Order only says the Government “May” cut the Razor Wire. Nothing orders them to do it or can make them do it. Also, The State still doesn’t have to give them access to the Park.

Great to see, but it’s difficult to imagine them prevailing, as, at some point, they’ll get the “Janet Reno Treatment”.
By the way, hope all you guys are prepped-up, because should Texas SERIOUSLY revolt, the feds will use all their ‘tools’ (and there are many, starting with bank accounts and credit cards) to bring us to our knees.

I've not read it, but if that's how it reads, then it offers no prohibition of adding more wire. LOL
I aint no lawyer, so I dont know, but I know the devil is in the details, and even though USSC sent this back, there may have been procedural reasons since it wasnt heard on any merits at all.
That said, if the current Fed Govt position is ultimately unconstitutional, then Abbott is correct to disregard it (so its not two wrongs).
