WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington’s federal appeals court on Tuesday rejected Donald Trump’s request to reconsider a gag order restricting the former president’s speech in the case charging him with plotting to overturn the 2020 election.
Lawyers for the Republican presidential primary front-runner had asked the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to examine the gag order after a three-judge panel upheld but narrowed the restrictions on his speech. Trump can now appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The gag order was imposed by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in October in response to concerns from special counsel Jack Smith’s team that Trump’s pattern of incendiary comments could taint the proceedings, intimidate witnesses and influence jurors.
The three judge panel that upheld the gag order last month modified it in important ways, freeing Trump to publicly criticize Smith. The special counsel has been a frequent target of Trump’s ire since being appointed by the Justice Department in November 2022 to lead investigations into the former president.
The panel said that though Trump could make general comments about known or foreseeable witnesses, he could not directly attack them over their involvement in the case or about the content of their expected testimony.

The judges today don’t give a rip about the law or the constitution. First amendment? That’s old time thinking. The only people entitled to rights are democrats and other corrupt filth.
Qualified immunity must be revoked for judges, prosecutors and agents.
These judges etc have zero accountability. Of course they’ll cheat and act politically.
In the meantime, jury nullification for all Fed cases unless defendant is one of these Feds.
They’ll never give up their power and immunity unless they start losing cases.

Trump should disobey the gag order so as t ripoen his appeal process to SCOTUS.Putting Trump im jail will assure his election as president.
And how would that work exactly? The federal court system, of which the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit is a part, is a creature of Congress, per Article III, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution.
"The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish."
As for the D.C. Circuit, it is established pursuant to 28 U.S.C. sec. 41.
So, yeah, the D.C. Circuit could be done away with, but Congress would have to do it. Trump himself could not Harry Potter it away as if by magic.
I mean, I know that it is utterly fashionable around here nowadays not to have any actual knowledge about the subject on which one is running one's mouth, but, I mean, please.
This place just gets dumber and dumber.

They can put the other courts anywhere they want. SCOTUS is the only one in DC. Really it’s quite simple.
